Integrating the regional VMHD over the Swave-Twave segment of the cardiac cycle (Vsegment) provides a non-invasive method for measuring regional blood volumes, which can be rapidly obtained during MRI without incurring additional cost.

Many waterbird populations have faced declines over the last century, including the common tern (Sterna hirundo), a waterbird species with a widespread breeding distribution, that has been recently listed as endangered in some habitats of its range. Waterbird monitoring programs exist to track populations through time; however, some of the more intensive approaches require entering colonies and can be disruptive to nesting populations. Background: Left ventricular dyssynchrony is an adverse consequence of ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and bears an unfavorable prognosis. Mechanical dyssynchrony as measured by phase analysis from gated single photon emission computed tomography (GSPECT) correlates well with other imaging methods of assessing dyssynchrony but has not been studied in STEMI. We hypothesized that systolic dyssynchrony as measured by GSPECT would correlate with adverse remodeling after STEMI.
