Introduction: Despite increased awareness of the detrimental relationship between homelessness and health, people experiencing homelessness remain an underserved population in health and social care research. Due to barriers affecting the accessibility of medicine and healthcare services, as well as reported competing priorities such as food and shelter, evidence has demonstrated that people experiencing homelessness are less likely to undergo routine examinations, receive diagnoses and adhere to prescribed medical treatments. To enhance service design and access for those experiencing homelessness, it is critical to better recognise, understand and address the barriers these individuals face.

Method: Six individuals (aged 6 to 15) with untreated HPA were compared with six age and gender matches with PKU, and six healthy controls on the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, 5th edition; Wechsler Individual Achievement Test, 2nd edition; Trail-Making test; Contingency Naming Test; and Oral Fluency test. Self- and parent-report rating scales administered included the Conners Comprehensive Behavior Rating Scales; Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function, 2nd edition; the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory, and the Phenylketonuria Quality of Life (PKU group only) questionnaires.

Methods: A computational network model of the gastrocnemius muscle microcirculation was adapted to reflect rarefaction based on arteriolar density measurements from PAD patients, with and without exercise. A normalized input pressure was applied at the feeder artery to simulate both reduced and restored ABI in the PAD condition.
Fishborne zoonotic trematodes (FZT) are an emerging problem and there is now a consensus that, in addition to wild-caught fish, fish produced in aquaculture present a major food safety risk, especially in Southeast Asia where aquaculture is important economically. Current control programs target communities at risk through mass drug administration. However, we argue that treatment alone will not reduce the risk from eating infected fish and that sustainable effective control must adopt an integrated FZT control approach based on education, infrastructure improvements, and management practices that target critical control points in the aquaculture production cycle identified from a thorough understanding of FZT and host biology and epidemiology.
