- This study aimed to analyze the effects of local steroid injections on neuropathic symptoms in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), an area not previously explored in detail.
- Forty-one patients between 22-65 years old, diagnosed with CTS and showing neuropathic symptoms, were treated with steroid injections, and their symptoms were evaluated before and two months after the treatment using specific pain questionnaires and nerve conduction studies.
- Results indicated that the steroid injections improved both clinical symptoms and nerve conduction results, but the severity of the nerve condition (as measured electrophysiologically) did not correlate with the pain questionnaire scores, suggesting that treatment for neuropathic pain should be independent of these electrophysi
