Revision total hip arthroplasty using a tapered, press-fit cementless revision stem in elderly patients.

In elderly patients, osteoporosis can complicate revision total hip arthroplasty (THA). The SLR-Plus (Smith & Nephew, Memphis, TN) revision stem has a tapered, press-fit design, which we hypothesized could enhance stability in this population. Accordingly, we retrospectively analyzed data for 48 elderly patients who underwent revision THA using the SLR-Plus stem.
