Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice of epilepsy in Wayanad, Kerala.

Objective: Epilepsy is a common neurological condition characterized by recurrent seizures. The aim of the study was to assess the level of Knowledge, Attitude, and Practices (KAP) in epilepsy in the district of Wayanad.

Methods: This study was conducted among adults residing in Wayanad.

Embryonal Tumor with Multilayered Rosettes in a 3-Year-Old Girl: Case Report.

Embryonal tumor with multilayered rosettes (ETMR) is a new entity in the group of primitive neuroectodermal tumors of the central nervous system (CNS). It combines histopathological features of neuroblastoma and ependymoblastoma. This tumor occurs mostly in the first five years of life.

The role of lymph node sampling and radiotherapy in the management of the axilla in early breast cancer.

Management of the axilla in early breast cancer is an issue of ongoing debate. We reviewed our experience in 312 patients who underwent axillary lymph node sampling between 1994 and 1998, of whom 81 patients (24%) had axillary lymph node metastasis. There have been two axillary recurrences, one associated with local recurrence to the breast and one presenting with distant metastasis.

Relaparotomy: a five-year review of indications and outcome.

Complications from abdominal surgery may necessitate reoperation and can be associated with significant morbidity and mortality. This review aims to analyse the incidence and outcome of relaparotomy for various indications. In a retrospective review of case notes of patients who had undergone one or more relaparotomies during the same hospitalisation between 1996 and 2000, 55 patients required relaparotomy.

Warfarin-induced haemorrhagic infarction of the small bowel.

Haemorrhagic infarction of the small bowel is a rare complication of warfarin therapy. We take this opportunity to report a case that needed a resection of the small bowel.
