- A 70-year-old woman presented with abdominal pain and a solid mass, which imaging identified as a large cystic lesion with an unclear origin.
- Upon surgical exploration, the cyst revealed multiple daughter cysts and was confirmed to be a primary peritoneal hydatid cyst, a rare type that occurs in about 2% of hydatid cases and is rarely reported outside endemic regions.
