Herein we report a general rhodium-catalyzed asymmetric intermolecular dearomative cyclopropanation of indoles using trifluoromethyl N-triftosylhydrazones as carbene precursors. The reaction enables the rapid construction of diverse cyclopropane-fused indolines bearing a trifluoromethylated quaternary stereocenter with high enantioselectivity (up to 99 % ee). This mild method exhibits broad substrate scope, tolerating various functional groups, and can even be utilized for the late-stage diversification of complex bioactive molecules.

We introduce a novel method to design and implement a tunable dynamical tissue phantom for laser speckle-based blood flow imaging. This approach relies on stochastic differential equations (SDE) to control a piezoelectric actuator which, upon illuminated with a laser source, generates speckles of pre-defined probability density function and auto-correlation. The validation experiments show that the phantom can generate dynamic speckles that closely replicate both surfaces as well as deep tissue blood flow for a reasonably wide range and accuracy.

Here, we report a silver carbene-enabled single-carbon insertion reaction of indoles via a one-pot, two-step sequence to deliver a dearomative quaternary center quinoline scaffold in a modular fashion. Specifically, we used -triftosylhydrazones as masked donor-donor carbene precursors that facilitate the insertion of carbon atoms bearing various functional groups to the library of functionalized quinoline. Experimental and DFT evidence support the transient presence of a cyclopropane species and removal of protecting groups.

Megacystis microcolon intestinal hypoperistalsis syndrome (MMIHS) is a rare, congenital functional intestinal obstruction, characterised by megacystis (bladder distention in the absence of mechanical obstruction), microcolon and intestinal hypoperistalsis (dysmotility).We are reporting a case of a female child with normal antenatal course who presented with recurrent episodes of abdominal distension since the second day of life and underwent negative exploratory laparotomy on multiple occasions. She also had urinary retention with a grossly distended bladder, requiring drainage by clean intermittent catheterisation.

A spatially weighted filter applied to both the measurement and the Jacobian is proposed for high-density diffuse correlation tomography (DCT) to remove unwanted extracerebral interferences and artefacts along with better depth localization in the reconstructed blood flow images. High-density DCT is implemented by appropriate modification of recently introduced Multi-speckle Diffuse Correlation Spectroscopy (M-DCS) system.
