The effect of residual stress or heat on ferroelectrics used to convert photons into electricity was investigated. The data analysis reveals that when the PET-PZT piezoelectric transducer is UV-irradiated with a 405 nm wavelength, it becomes a photon-heat-stress electric energy converter and capacitator. Our objective was to evaluate the PET-PZT photon-heat-stress electric energy conversion performance and the role of the light's wavelength and intensity.

Spontaneous spreading involves a surface tension gradient (Marangoni stresses), which enhances spreading over a large area. Experimental observations reveal that the spreading rate and surfactant concentration have an optimum substrate wettability of 60 ± 5° (Hill, R.

We used a Markov model to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of 1 dose of CD-JEV compared with no vaccination in 3 vaccination strategies in Bangladesh: subnational campaign and routine immunization, subnational campaign and national routine immunization, and national routine immunization alone. For input parameters, we gathered information from a cost-of-illness study, medical literature, government documents, and expert opinions.

This paper explores the challenges experienced by Arabic-speaking INR older adults in Edmonton, Canada, during settlement and discusses policy and service implications. A qualitative description study using community-based participatory research principles was implemented to evaluate and support digital literacy in Arabic-speaking INR older adults.

Objectives: Adolescents with functional abdominal pain (FAP) often experience pain and other gastrointestinal symptoms in the context of eating, which may place them at risk for eating disorders. This study compared disordered eating and its sequalae in adolescents with FAP to those with chronic headache.
Methods: Participants in this retrospective chart review study were 270 adolescents and young adults (mean age 15.
The utilization of music intervention featuring auditory binaural beats (BBs) has garnered attention as a promising avenue for enhancing the health and well-being of younger, healthy individuals. This scoping review systematically examines the effects and correlates associated with BB stimulation in the context of older adults' health. Additionally, it briefly addresses how incorporating BBs as a therapeutic modality can facilitate medical treatment strategies and support the rehabilitation of aging populations.

The concomitant presence of metabolic risk factors might further increase this risk. We studied the association between graft steatosis and metabolic risk factors in the donor, with recipient outcomes after liver transplantation.

This study aimed to assess the association between the type of calcineurin inhibitor used and long-term outcomes following LT in patients with PBC.
Methods: Survival analyses were used to assess the association between immunosuppressive drugs and graft or patient survival among adult patients with PBC in the European Liver Transplant Registry.

Portal vein thrombosis (PVT) refers to the development of a non-malignant obstruction of the portal vein, its branches, its radicles, or a combination. This Review first provides a comprehensive overview of all aspects of PVT, namely the specifics of the portal venous system, the risk factors for PVT, the pathophysiology of portal hypertension in PVT, the interest in non-invasive tests, as well as therapeutic approaches including the effect of treating risk factors for PVT or cause of cirrhosis, anticoagulation, portal vein recanalisation by interventional radiology, and prevention and management of variceal bleeding in patients with PVT. Specific issues are also addressed including portal cholangiopathy, mesenteric ischaemia and intestinal necrosis, quality of life, fertility, contraception and pregnancy, and PVT in children.

Objective: To evaluate the heterogeneity in treatment effect in posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) trials.
Patients And Methods: We downloaded data from a publicly available repository that captured PTSD trials published from January 1988 through February 2023. We applied restricted maximum-likelihood random-effect meta-analyses and meta-regression to explore potential moderators of treatment effect including methodologic study features (risk of bias domains and control group response rate), characteristics of the population, and intervention features following the theme, intensity, and platform framework.
Aims: The main aim of the current study was to measure physical activity, sedentary behaviors and sleep levels across the different seasons in people with type 1 diabetes in Kuwait.
Methods: A prospective cross-sectional study was conducted from August 2021 to September 2022. Physical activity and sleep metrics were measured over a 7-day period with a wrist-worn accelerometer (GENEActiv).
Phosphorus (P) use efficiency in alkaline/calcareous soils is only 20% due to precipitation of PO with calcium and magnesium. However, coating Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) with phosphorus solubilizing bacteria (PSB) is more appropriate to increase fertilizer use efficiency. Therefore, with the aim to use inorganic fertilizers more effectively present study was conducted to investigate comparative effect of coated DAP with PSB strains Bacillus subtilis ZE15 (MN003400), Bacillus subtilis ZR3 (MN007185), Bacillus megaterium ZE32 (MN003401) and Bacillus megaterium ZR19 (MN007186) and their extracted metabolites with uncoated DAP under axenic conditions.

The emergence of resistance to carbapenem and colistin compounds poses further challenges to the treatment options for these illnesses. This study aimed to evaluate the phenotypic and genotypic pattern of resistance to carbapenem and colistin in ESBL-producing .

Ectopic parathyroid glands are a reported cause of failed primary surgery for hyperparathyroidism. We report here a 73-year-old male who previously had parathyroidectomy for primary hyperparathyroidism but then had recurrence of his symptoms with a diagnosis of a mediastinal parathyroid carcinoma on further evaluation.

Programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) tumor proportion score (TPS) serves as a predictive biomarker for ICI response. However, the predictive value of brain metastasis-specific (intracranial) PD-L1 TPS is not established.

After controlling income and structural breaks, the empirical findings confirm the asymmetric effects of exchange rates on the short-run and long-run export and import demand functions of Bangladesh. Furthermore, the impacts of the appreciation and depreciation of the Bangladeshi currency are heterogeneous for these three trading partners.
