Mitochondrial biogenesis relies on both the nuclear and mitochondrial genomes, and imbalance in their expression can lead to inborn errors of metabolism, inflammation, and aging. Here, we investigate N6AMT1, a nucleo-cytosolic methyltransferase that exhibits genetic codependency with mitochondria. Objective: Robotic arms are innovative assistive devices for ALS patients with progressive motor deficits of arms and hands. The objective was to explore the patients´ expectations towards a robotic arm system and to assess the actual experiences after the provision of the device.
Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted at 9 ALS centers in Germany.
Aims: The aggregation and deposition of amyloid-β (Aβ) peptides in the brain is thought to be the initial driver in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Aside from full-length Aβ peptides starting with an aspartate residue in position 1, both N-terminally truncated and elongated Aβ peptides are produced by various proteases from the amyloid precursor protein (APP) and have been detected in brain tissues and body fluids.
