Significant wellbeing concerns have been reported nationally among resident doctors. A peer-led survey at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust revealed high burnout risk and dissatisfaction. The Doctor Wellbeing Group (DWG) was established to address these multifaceted concerns by supporting resident doctors to run quality improvement projects to improve working conditions, with consultant supervision and regular reports to stakeholders.

However, given the challenges of using fMRI with infants and young children, little work has assessed the developmental trajectories of these networks or their associations with EF at key developmental stages. More recently, functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) has emerged as a promising neuroimaging tool which can provide information on cortical functional networks and can be more easily implemented with young children.

Policymakers in host countries often support subsidiaries' R&D efforts, through R&D grants and R&D tax credits. A key objective of this funding is to leverage R&D-driven firm performance benefits for the host economy.

The emerging evidence base for SP demonstrates variability in the design and implementation of different SP initiatives. To effectively address these needs, coproduction among clients, communities, stakeholders, and policy makers is important for tailoring SP initiatives for optimal uptake.

The presence of maternal anxiety and depression are well-established risk factors for child internalizing psychopathology, yet the responsible mechanisms linking the two remain unclear.
Methods: We examined the potential mediating and moderating roles of EEG frontal alpha asymmetry (FAA) in the intergenerational transmission of internalizing symptoms in a longitudinal sample of = 323 mother-child dyads.
The tumour microenvironment (TME) is a dynamic nexus where cancer cell metabolism and the immune system intricately converge, with nucleotide metabolism (NM) playing a pivotal role. This review explores the critical function of NM in cancer cell proliferation and its profound influence on the TME and immune landscape. NM is essential for DNA and RNA synthesis and is markedly upregulated in cancer cells to meet the demands of rapid growth.

Introduction: Social prescribing (SP) is a holistic and collaborative approach to help individuals access community-based supports and services for their nonmedical social needs. The aim of this study was to assess the needs and priorities of Canadian older adults (aged 55 years and older), with a focus on optimizing SP programs for those who are systemically disadvantaged and socially marginalized.
Methods: Semistructured focus groups (N = 10 groups, 43 participants) were conducted online via Zoom with participants from across Canada.

Social prescribing offers a practical mechanism by which public health and health care systems can work together toward a future in which well-being is prioritized, health equity is addressed and people and communities thrive. The articles in this second part of the Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention in Canada special issue on social prescribing explore how social prescribing in Canada supports action on two frameworks important to public health and health care communities: the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion, which emphasizes building healthy public policy, creating supportive environments, strengthening community action, developing personal skills and reorienting health services, and the Quintuple Aim for health care improvement, which focusses on improved population health, health equity, patient experience, care team well-being and reduced costs.

However, video telemedicine requires adequate broadband internet speeds. As video-based telemedicine grows, variations in broadband access must be accurately measured and characterized.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER: 2010-2019) for patients ≥ 70 years with cT2-4N0M0 melanoma.
Introduction: Social prescribing offers a formal pathway of connecting patients in the health system with sources of support within the community to help improve their health and well-being. Since its launch in March 2022, the Canadian Institute for Social Prescribing has acted as a collective impact network to identify, connect and build upon established social prescribing initiatives using a co-design methodology. The institute received input from a participant advisory council, co-design partners and several communities of interest groups.

Despite the lack of evidence, opioids are still routinely used as a solution to long-term management for chronic noncancer pain (CNCP). Given the significant risks associated with long-term opioid use, including the increased number of unregulated opioid pills at large in the opioid ecosystem, opioid cessation or reduction may be the desired goal of the patient and clinician. Viable nonpharmacological interventions (NPIs) to complement and/or replace opioids for CNCP are needed.

The Lalonde report, published in 1974 by the Canadian Minister of National Health and Welfare, broke ground for public health in Canada by acknowledging that the determinants of health are much broader than health care services. Fifty years later, this special issue of Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention in Canada charts a clear path towards addressing upstream determinants of health through an emerging intervention called "social prescribing." Social prescribing connects patients with community resources tailored to their individual priorities, fostering a paradigm shift from a deficitbased to a strengths-based approach in health promotion.

However, it is unclear how risk genes associated with such disorders affect gut physiology in a manner that could impact microbial colonization and how the mechanical properties of the gut tissue might play a role in gut-brain bidirectional communication. To address this, we used Drosophila melanogaster with a null mutation in the gene kismet, an ortholog of chromodomain helicase DNA-binding protein (CHD) family members CHD7 and CHD8.

Objective: To evaluate PC wait times before and after CRH implementation.
Design: Comparative interrupted time series analysis among a retrospective observational cohort of PC clinics who did and did not use CRH during pre-implementation (October 2018-September 2019) and post-implementation (October 2019-February 2020) periods.
Purpose: Despite a high prevalence of fatigue and its importance to patients, many people with long-term conditions do not receive fatigue management as part of their treatment. This review is aimed to identify clinical guidance for the management of fatigue in long-term physical health conditions.
Methods: A systematic mapping review was conducted in accordance with Social Care Institute for Excellence systematic review guidance.
Background: Young people (YP) with long-term conditions (LTCs) are at greater risk of psychological distress than those without LTCs. Despite this, there is a scarcity of quality digital interventions designed to help improve mental wellbeing in this population. The aim of this study was to determine what YP, parents and health professionals preferred for future interventions.

Methods: A retrospective cohort study was performed between the period January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2021 in a tertiary referral maternity hospital identifying all pregnancies with a diagnosis of gastroschisis. Projected fetal weight was obtained using the formula (EFW [Hadlock's formula] + 185 g × [X/7]) where X was the number of days to delivery.
Objective: To explore the cost-effectiveness of a web-based support tool for parents of children with Juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
Methods: A multi-centred randomized controlled trial was conducted in paediatric rheumatology centres in England. The WebParC intervention consisted of online information about JIA and its treatment and a toolkit using cognitive-behavioural therapy principles to support parents manage their child's JIA.
Multivalent presentation of ligands often enhances receptor activation and downstream signalling. DNA origami offers a precise nanoscale spacing of ligands, a potentially useful feature for therapeutic nanoparticles. Here we use a square-block DNA origami platform to explore the importance of the spacing of CpG oligonucleotides.

While this population has largely been neglected in social prescribing research, policy, and practice, several evaluations of social prescribing for children and youth have emerged in recent years, which calls for a review of the evidence on this topic. Thus, the objective of this scoping review is to map the evidence on the use of social prescribing for children and youth.

We investigated the neurodevelopmental impacts of BPF exposure using Drosophila melanogaster as a model. Our transcriptomic analysis indicated that developmental exposure to BPF caused the downregulation of neurodevelopmentally relevant genes, including those associated with synapse formation and neuronal projection.
