Antimicrobial resistance poses a significant global health threat by reducing the effectiveness of conventional antibiotics, particularly against pathogens like Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). This study investigates the antimicrobial potential of rhizospheric soil bacteria from Prosopis cineraria (Sangri) in the Thar Desert. Bacterial strains isolated from these samples were observed to produce secondary metabolites, notably, Iturin A C-15 cyclic lipopeptide (SS1-3-P) which was extracted from strain Enterobacter cloacae SS1-3 and was purified and characterized using reverse-phase HPLC, ESI-LC/MS, Nile-Red Assay, and FT-IR analysis.

The self-assembly of lipopeptide (peptide amphiphile) molecules bearing single linear lipid chains has been widely studied, as has their diverse range of bioactivities. Here, we introduce lipopeptides bearing one or two cycloalkane chains (cycloheptadecyl or cyclododecyl) conjugated to the collagen-stimulating pentapeptide KTTKS used in Matrixyl formulations. Introduction: Tobacco consumption has been proven to be associated with a huge epidemiological, humanistic, and economic burden. National and international organizations are making concerted efforts to control tobacco use.
Background: Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) following surgical resection is the standard of care for patients with symptomatic oligo brain metastasis (BM), however, it is associated with 10-15% local failure. Targeting a resection cavity is imprecise, thus preoperative radiosurgery where the target is well-defined may be superior, however, the efficacy of preoperative SRS has not yet been tested in a clinical trial.
Methods: We conducted a phase 2, single-arm trial of preoperative SRS followed by surgical resection in patients with 1-4 symptomatic oligo BMs (NCT03398694) with the primary objective of measuring 6-month local control (LC).
RNA molecules are localized to subcellular regions through interactions between localization-regulatory cis-elements and trans-acting RNA binding proteins (RBPs). However, the identities of RNAs whose localization is regulated by a specific RBP as well as the impacts of that RNA localization on cell function have generally remained unknown.
