[Experience in the organization of work and pay by the brigade method in laboratory practice].

A specialized team for specific and nonspecific diagnosis of syphilis was created at the central serologic laboratory of the hospital of the Uzbek Research Institute for Dermatology and Venereology. The laboratory annually analyzes 350,000 serum samples. A principle for estimation of labor contribution coefficient has been developed, based on assessment of labor operations performed by each team member.

[Use of divascan in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy].

Divascan (iprasochrome), a drug designed by GDR pharmacologists, brings about a positive effect in the management of diabetic microangiopathies, particularly at early stages. Altogether 22 patients with diabetes mellitus, types I and II, were on divascan therapy. Before and after treatment the patients were subjected to clinical and ophthalmoscopic studies including the determination of microcirculation in the conjunctiva, renal function, the level of serotonin, its precursors and the main metabolite.

[Kidney function in persons with disordered glucose tolerance and in patients with initial type I and II diabetes mellitus].

The renal function was investigated in 17 subjects with disordered glucose tolerance, in 14 patients with diabetes mellitus of the I type, persisted up to one year, and in 11 patients with primary diabetes mellitus of the II type. The renal secretory-excretory function (RSEF) and the effective renal circulation (ERC) were studied by means of radioisotopic technique, using 131I-hippuran. The patients were examined over a period of diabetes mellitus decompensation.
