Mites and Ticks (Acari) of Bats (Chiroptera) collected from Bursa and Kütahya Provinces, North-Western of Türkiye.

Objective: A total of 357 specimens belonging to nineteen species of bats collected from Bursa and Kütahya Provinces, Türkiye, were examined for mite ectoparasites.

Methods: Related bat species were collected and studied about ectoparasitologically. For this purpose stereo and light microscopic methods used.

Checklist of the water mites (Acari: Hydrachnidia) of Turkey: First supplement.

As a first supplement to the list of the water mites (Acari, Hydrachnidia) fauna of Turkey compiled by Erman et al. (2010), a faunistic list of water mites from Turkey is presented based on published data after 2010. Including the new data, the total number of taxa recorded from Turkey reaches 335 species, in 62 genera and 25 families.

Ixodid ticks (Acari: Ixodidae) infesting humans in Tokat Province of Turkey: species diversity and seasonal activity.

Ixodid ticks (Acari: Ixodidae) are the major vectors of pathogens threatening animal and human health. Tokat Province, Turkey, is a suitable habitat for extended tick activity with its moderate climate and vegetation. In the present study, we surveyed humans visiting health centers to determine the species diversity, geographical distribution, and seasonal activity of ixodid ticks infesting them.

A cytogenetics study of Hydrodroma despiciens (Müller, 1776) (Acari: Hydrachnellae: Hydrodromidae).

The karyotypes of water mites (Acari: Hydrachnellae: Hydrodromidae) are largely unknown. The present investigation is the first report of a study designed to characterize the chromosomes of water mites. The study was carried out with specimens of Hydrodroma despiciens collected from Eber Lake in Afyon, Turkey.
