Background: Melasma is a pigmentary disorder often recalcitrant to treatment. Few studies have objectively evaluated the efficacy of treatment colorimetrically.

Aim: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of a depigmentation cream, including mainly glycolic acid and Rumex occidentalis.
