Evaluating the Impact of Minimally Invasive Surgery on Long-Term Quality of Life in Foregut Cancer Patients.

Introduction: Compared to open surgery (OS), minimally invasive surgery (MIS) for foregut cancer improves perioperative outcomes. However, the impact of MIS on long-term quality of life (QOL) is unknown. We compare the long-term QOL of patients who underwent MIS and OS for foregut cancer.

A cost effective method for the preparation of sodium fluoride [F]NaF for PET-CT imaging by using an in-house designed module.

We report the development of a manual module for the preparation of [F]NaF for metastatic bone cancer imaging. By using this simple module, [F]NaF production can be carried out inexpensively without using commercially available kits. The module can be used for making [F]NaF from freshly irradiated HO water or with left over activity in the target after [F]FDG production.

Antidiabetic and Antioxidant Potentials of Amaranthus hybridus in Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats.

Context: Amaranthus hybridus (Amaranthaceae) has been used as a folk medicine in southern parts of India for the treatment of diabetes.

Objective: This research evaluates the antidiabetic and antioxidant effects of Amaranthus hybridus ethanol leaf extract (AHELE) in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats.

Methods: Blood glucose levels of diabetic rats were measured on days 1, 4, 7, and 15 after oral administration of AHELE at doses of 200 and 400 mg/kg for 14 days.

Preparation of [(68)Ga]PSMA-11 for PET-CT imaging using a manual synthesis module and organic matrix based (68)Ge/(68)Ga generator.

Introduction: [(68)Ga]PSMA-11 is a relatively recently introduced radiopharmaceutical for PET-CT imaging of prostate cancer patients. The availability of (68)Ge/(68)Ga generator and PSMA-11 ligand from commercial sources is facilitating the production of the radiopharmaceutical in-house. This paper describes our experience on the preparation of ~200 batches of [(68)Ga]PSMA-11 for conducting PET-CT imaging in patients suspected/suffering from prostate cancer.
