Background: Mucinous cystic neoplasms (MCN) of the pancreas are rare mucin-producing cystic tumors. As they harbor malignant potential, surgical resection is frequently performed. Current guidelines recommend surgery in asymptomatic patients only for MCN exceeding 4 cm.
