  • Bruxism is a disorder characterized by clenching or grinding teeth, often occurring unconsciously, and can be diagnosed using both non-instrumental (self-reporting and questionnaires) and instrumental methods (like electromyography and polysomnography).
  • The study aimed to assess whether non-instrumental diagnostic tools are reliable enough for confirming bruxism, specifically comparing these methods to more thorough instrumental diagnoses.
  • Out of 3,687 articles reviewed, only eight were deemed suitable, leading to the conclusion that non-instrumental tools alone are insufficient for a definitive diagnosis of bruxism and should be used alongside instrumental methods for better accuracy.
