Article Synopsis
  • This study explored the relationship between trace minerals in sheep forages and their gastrointestinal (GI) parasite burdens, aiming to find a connection between the two.
  • Researchers collected 384 fecal samples and analyzed trace minerals such as Mn, Co, Cu, and Zn in both the forages and sheep serum, discovering significant variations between the two districts, Sialkot and Multan.
  • Findings showed a prevalence of GI parasites at 34% in Sialkot and 32% in Multan, with certain trace minerals correlating with parasite egg counts, suggesting that improving forage mineral content could help manage GI parasites in sheep.

This study was conducted to compare the scrotal skin dynamics of camel and buffalo bulls regarding thermoregulation, season and testosterone. Scrotal skin and blood samples (n = 8 each) were collected during breeding (October to March) and non-breeding seasons (April to August). Tissue slides were prepared by the paraffin embedding technique followed by hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining and were analysed by ImageJ®.
