This study aimed to identify differentially expressed non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) associated with preterm birth (PTB) and determine biological pathways being influenced in the context of PTB. We processed cell-free RNA sequencing data and identified seventeen differentially expressed (DE) ncRNAs that could be involved in the onset of PTB. Per the validation via customized RT-qPCR, the recorded variations in expressions of eleven ncRNAs were concordant with the analyses.

Article Synopsis
  • Pakistan's Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) faces challenges, with vaccine-preventable diseases contributing significantly to high infant and child mortality rates.
  • A study conducted from 2014 to 2018 on 3140 children under 2 years old revealed that only 48.4% received all recommended vaccines, with many receiving them late; coverage was highest for pentavalent and pneumococcal vaccines and lowest for measles and rotavirus.
  • Educational levels of caregivers correlated with better vaccination rates, while distance from major roads hindered timely vaccinations, suggesting targeted outreach and promotion could improve vaccine uptake.
