Tannery effluent contains a number of organic and inorganic elements as pollutants which reduce plant growth. To overcome shortage of water, use of diluted industrial wastewater such as tannery effluent can be a viable strategy for improving crop growth and yield. A pot experiment was conducted to determine the effects of tannery effluent and its various dilutions on physiological and biochemical characteristics of five cucurbitaceous vegetables.

The diverse role of HO is achieved through its compartmentalized synthesis, temporal control exerted by the antioxidant machinery, and ability to oxidize specific residues of target proteins. Here, we examine the role of HO in stress acclimation beyond the well-studied transcriptional reprogramming, modulation of plant hormonal networks and long-distance signalling waves by highlighting its global impact on the transcriptional regulation and translational machinery.

Several morpho-molecular parameters were evaluated to test the performance of field mustard and rapeseed genotypes under artificial inoculation with this pathogen. During Brassica-Alternaria interaction, physio-biochemical defense response was witnessed in tolerant genotypes.
