The discovery of leucine-rich-containing G-protein-coupled receptor 5 (Lgr5) as an intestinal adult stem cell marker had blazed a trail in stem cell biology and laid the foundations of modern organoid technology. Up to date, several well-established intestinal organoid protocols have been reported in the literature from different sources, including adult and induced pluripotent stem cells. Here, we demonstrate a BALB/c mouse-derived intestinal organoid culture protocol, passaging, and cryopreservation procedures.

Background: This study aimed to compare the predictive performance of the BIG score (base deficit + [2.5 × international normalized ratio (INR)] + [15 - Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS)]) for in-hospital mortality in adult patients with multiple trauma against other scoring systems, including the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), Revised Trauma Score (RTS), and Injury Severity Score (ISS).
Methods: A retrospective single-center study was conducted, including 563 adults (aged ≥18 years) with multiple trauma who were admitted to the emergency department and hospitalized between January 2022 and December 2023.

In this study, we conducted a comparison of several inflammation scores in predicting left atrial thrombosis (LAT) in patients with ischemic stroke without AF. : In this single-center, retrospective study, we included 303 consecutive patients with ischemic stroke.

This study evaluates the relationship between admission NLR, stroke severity and 90-day outcomes in patients with anterior circulation large vessel occlusion (LVO) undergoing early, successful revascularization. A retrospective multicenter study was conducted with 1082 patients treated with mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke.

We show that bovine milk sEVs select approximately 55,000 genomic variants in 19 species of bacteria from the murine cecum . The genomic variants are transcribed into mRNA.

Objectives: Acrodermatitis dysmetabolica (AD) is a dermatologic manifestation associated with inherited metabolic disorders (IMDs), distinct from acrodermatitis enteropathica, which occurs solely due to zinc deficiency.
Case Presentation: This report presents two pediatric cases: a 30-month-old girl with maple syrup urine disease (MSUD) experiencing AD secondary to severe isoleucine deficiency due to a protein-restricted diet, showing improvement with dietary adjustments, and a 2.5-month-old boy infant with propionic acidemia (PA) who developed AD alongside septic shock, which progressed despite intervention.

This research was conducted to investigate the relationship between women's attitudes toward sexuality during pregnancy and their body image and to determine the predictors of pregnant women's sexual attitudes. The research was conducted with 515 pregnant women in Turkey. Study data were collected using a sociodemographic data form, the Attitude Scale toward Sexuality during Pregnancy, and the Body Image in Pregnancy Scale.

Methods: The study included 35 patients who used heparin as a locking solution and 35 patients who used 0.
Purpose: To explore how serum diabetes autoantibodies are related to the development of early diabetic retinopathy in children with type 1 diabetes mellitus.
Methods: In this prospective and observational study, 62 patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus who had not yet developed clinical diabetic retinopathy were followed up for at least 5 years. Healthy volunteers aged 10 to 20 years were also included.
This study was aimed to identify the most frequently observed pathogens in uncomplicated urinary tract infections from outpatient urinary isolates obtained across seven different geographical regions in Türkiye and to determine whether the antibiotic resistance rates of these pathogens differ significantly between these regions. The study included patients aged 18 to 65 years who were diagnosed with uncomplicated urinary tract infections and had positive urine cultures from March 2021 to August 2022, across 37 different centers in Türkiye. The participating centers were selected based on their use of the disk diffusion method, in line with the European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (EUCAST) guidelines, to ensure standardization of urine culture data.

Objective: are clinically relevant for severity prediction and treatment of COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2. We aimed to demonstrate the potential cytokines for severity prediction in the five days after symptom onset and describe the importance of serum cytokine levels for patients with different disease severity.
Materials And Methods: Hospitalized COVID-19 patients and healthy control participants were recruited, and serial sera were collected from COVID-19 patients.
Highly selective inhibitors of cyclin-dependent kinase 4 and 6 (CDK4/6is) have emerged as a standart of care for first- and second-line therapies in combination with endocrine therapy (ET) for HR+/HER2- metastatic breast cancer (MBC) patients. It has been reported that combination therapy is more effective than ET alone and is safe in elderly patients as well as young patients. Nevertheless, elderly and very old patients with HR+/HER2-MBC treated with CDK4/6 inhibitor (CDK4/6i) combinations are relatively underrepresented in randomized controlled trials.

As members of CRPs, the nuclear receptors Rev-Erbα/β regulate circadian rhythm particularly by inhibiting Bmal1 protein and are involved in the neuroinflammation and cell death processes. However, their roles in the development of neuronal injury after traumatic brain injury (TBI) were largely unexplored, and so were investigated in the present study.

CD47 interacts with signal regulatory protein alpha (SIRPα) on macrophages to deliver an anti-phagocytic signal, enabling tumor cells to evade immune destruction. This study explores the relationship between CD47 and SIRPα expression and key clinical prognostic factors, microvascular density (MVD), and tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) in Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) cases. We analyzed tissue samples from 122 DLBCL cases using tissue microarray (TMA) blocks and immunohistochemical staining for CD47, SIRPα, CD31, and CD3.

In this study, we aim to understand the intricate dynamics of hole interactions, particularly focusing on the competition between on-site repulsion and hole-lattice coupling. Our results reveal a striking feature-an effective nearest-neighbor attraction between holes, even in the presence of the on-site repulsion typical of Mott insulators.

Psychosocial aftercare (PAC) offered for 6 months after IIPT can improve treatment outcomes for up to 12 months.
Objectives: The current study is the first to explore whether PAC is superior to treatment as usual at a long-term follow-up of 18 to 33 months after discharge-including when facing the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
The prevalence of centenarians, people who lived 100 years and longer, is steadily growing in the last decades. This exceptional longevity is based on multifaceted processes influenced by a combination of intrinsic and extrinsic factors such as sex, (epi-)genetic factors, gut microbiota, cellular metabolism, exposure to oxidative stress, immune status, cardiovascular risk factors, environmental factors, and lifestyle behavior. Epidemiologically, the incidence rate of cardiovascular diseases is reduced in healthy centenarians along with late onset of age-related diseases compared with the general aged population.
