Obesity is a global health crisis linked to numerous adverse outcomes including cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, cancer and cognitive decline. This study investigated the sex-specific effects of monosodium glutamate (MSG)-induced obesity on learning, memory, anxiety-like behavior, oxidative stress, and genotoxicity in rats. In 32 neonatal Wistar albino rats, subcutaneous MSG injections were administered to induce obesity.

In this study, demographic information, operative details, preoperative clinical findings, and postoperative outcomes were reviewed for 106 craniosynostosis patients with at least 1 year of follow-up. Many factors such as functional losses due to increased ICP before surgery, resynostosis, fronto-orbital relapse, surgical complications and aesthetic results were compared in syndromic and non-syndromic patients.

Methods: Before the procedure, patients were divided into two groups with 1:1 randomization. While one group was given written and verbal information, the other group was additionally given animated video information accompanied by a doctor.
Microplastics (MP), plastic particles <5 mm, are of global concern due to their worldwide distribution and potential repercussions on ecosystems and human well-being. In this study, MP were collected from the urbanized Susurluk basin in Türkiye to evaluate their vector function for bacterial biofilms, both in the wet and dry seasons. Bacterial biofilms were predominantly found on polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), and polystyrene (PS), which constitute the most common MP types in the region.

Objective: Psychosocial and genetic factors are considered to play roles in the etiological mechanisms of major depressive disorder (MDD). The involvement of miRNAs in the etiopathogenesis of depression and childhood traumas is still unclear. This study aims to reveal potential differences in miRNA levels between patients with depression and healthy individuals and assess their connection to childhood traumas.

Objectives: Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) are chronic, immune-mediated disorders of the gastrointestinal system. Pancreas can be affected in IBD patients with a wide array of clinical conditions including acu-te pancreatitis, abnormalities of pancreatic duct and pancreatic insufficiency. Pancreatic steatosis (PS) is an important but often overlooked pathology of pancreas.

Protein kinase B (AKT) protein is associated with many pathways in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), such as proliferation, migration, invasion, and apoptosis. Mushrooms have a long history of being used in traditional medicine to treat various diseases.

The photochemical in vitro photodynamic activity of zinc(II) phthalocyanine (), such as human nonsmall cell lung carcinoma cell lines, was investigated in this study. The singlet oxygen generation property of novel zinc(II) phthalocyanine () was also examined due to the significantly high singlet oxygen quantum yield of (F = 0.

Moreover, it was reported that stress can induce mutations in gene level. Therefore, in this study we want to examine a relationship between stressful life events, gene mutation and cancer.

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of the prognostic nutritional index (PNI) on the prognosis of geriatric patients diagnosed with acute heart failure.
Results: A total of 104 patients were included and evaluated retrospectively in this study; 57.
Background/aim: The transition from pediatric to adult-oriented care for individuals with juvenile-onset systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) poses significant challenges. This study aimed to assess the outcomes of transitioning patients with juvenile-onset SLE from pediatric to adult-oriented care.
Materials And Methods: Patients with juvenile-onset SLE were included in the study.
Objective: This study describes the perioperative kinetics of C-reactive protein in patients undergoing endoscopic coronary artery bypass grafting for single target vessel left anterior descending disease, with early postoperative discharge.
Methods: From July 2021 to April 2024, patients were included in this single-centre retrospective study ( = 208), excluding C-reactive protein-modulating complications. Perioperative and 14-day follow-up C-reactive protein levels and clinical signs of infections were analysed.

Objectives: Since the development of minimally invasive coronary surgery, nomenclature has rapidly grown to distinguish each unique method. The goal of this review was to provide a comprehensive overview of the different terms used for minimally invasive coronary bypass grafting through the years.
Methods: A literature search was performed in August 2024 using the PubMed electronic database.
Background: Digital technologies have not only revolutionized workflow strategies for implant- supported fixed prostheses but also changed preferences in the choice of restoration retention. Owing to the effortlessness of developing workflows with digitalization, screw-retention has become favored for initial prostheses. However, cement retention is still indicated for cases in which abutment reuse is needed for replacing failing restorations with technical complications.

The findings of this study will undoubtedly contribute to the development of post-disaster spiritual support services. We developed and implemented a six-week "Psycho-Social Training Programme through Spiritually Oriented Meaning" in the cities of Malatya, Elazığ and Kahramanmaraş, which were significantly affected by the earthquake.
