Purpose: To investigate the inhibitory effect of topically administered azithromycin (AZM), and moxifloxacin (MXF) against tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) production in a rat model of endotoxin-induced uveitis (EIU).
Methods: Thirty-six Wistar albino rats were divided into 6 equal groups. Groups 1, 2 and 3 were determined as sham, control group for topical AZM application and control group for topical MXF application, respectively.
Sepsis is a serious systemic inflammatory response to infections. In this study, effects of thymol treatments on sepsis response were investigated. A total of 24 rats were randomly divided into 3 different treatment groups, namely as Control, Sepsis and Thymol.

Although it is expressed throughout the brain, it is produced more intensively in the entorhinal cortex and hippocampus and can cross the blood-brain barrier in two directions easily. The aim of this study is to understand, for the first time, whether there is a relationship between febrile seizure (FS) and BDNF.

It is becoming progressively more understandable that overdose of paracetamol in both humans and animals causes severe hepatotoxicity. Apomorphine is known as a neuroprotective agent. Due to the protective effect, apomorphine had been tested in experimental studies on different models.

It is used as chemotherapy for many solid organ malignancies such as brain, neck, male and female urogenital, vesical and pulmonary cancers. Infliximab blocks tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α).

A total of 30 male Wistar albino rats were divided into three groups: sham, I/R, and I/R+IFX. IFX was given at a dose of 3 mg/kg for three days before I/R.

Methods: A total of 48 female adult rats were used in this study and randomly divided into 7 groups: (1) sham operation; (2) bilateral 3-hour ovarian ischemia; (3) 3-hour ischemia and 3-hour reperfusion; (4) and (5) rats were administered 20 and 40 mg/kg of TQ, respectively, before 0.5 h of ischemia, and then 3 h of ovarian ischemia was applied; (6) and (7) 3-hour ovarian ischemia was applied; 2.
Objective: The main causes of spinal cord ischemia are a variety of vascular pathologies causing acute arterial occlusions. We investigated neuroprotective effects of kefir on spinal cord ischemia injury in rats.
Methods: Rats were divided into three groups : 1) sham operated control rats; 2) spinal cord ischemia group fed on a standard diet without kefir pretreatment; and 3) spinal cord ischemia group fed on a standard diet plus kefir.

Carbon tetrachloride (CCl4), a solvent frequently used in industry, can cause acute liver failure and liver fibrosis. Infliximab (Ib), a potent tumor necrosis factor alpha blocker, has a protective effect on the liver. Therefore, we investigated the protective effect of Ib against CCl4-induced acute liver injury.

The rats were randomly divided into four groups: control group (no medication or surgical procedure), SNI group, SNI + coumaric acid (CA) group, and SNI + methylprednisolone (MP) group. Ischemia was achieved by abdominal aorta clamping, and all animals were sacrificed 24 h after ischemia.

Introduction: Zoledronic acid (ZA), a bisphosphonate, increases the levels of cytokines, such as interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), and reactive oxygen species (ROS) in subjects without cancer. Increased production of ROS, TNF-α, and IL-6 during ischemia and reperfusion (I/R) injury stimulates apoptosis that leads to renal injury. We aimed to investigate whether ZA treatment has a protective effect on renal tissues during I/R.

However, currently, there is no treatment choice to prevent cell death triggered by reactive oxygen species. In our study, we researched the effects of tannic acid, an antioxidant, on the ischemic tissue of rats with induced middle cerebral artery occlusion.

Materials And Methods: We conducted the study with two groups of 12 male rats that fasted for 12 h before application.
Propolis, an extremely complex resinous material, exhibits valuable pharmacological and biological properties attributed to the presence of polyphenols. In this study, we determined the antioxidant properties of lyophilized aqueous extract of propolis (LAEP) from Erzurum province of Turkey and correlated the values with total levels of polyphenolic compounds. In order to estimate the capacity of LAEP to act as antioxidants, we studied its 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl radicals (DPPH()), 2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) radicals (ABTS()(+)), N,N-dimethyl-p-phenylenediamine radicals (DMPD()(+)), superoxide anion radicals (O(2)(-)) and hydrogen peroxide (H(2)O(2)) scavenging activity, total antioxidant activity, ferric ions (Fe(3+)) and cupric ions (Cu(2+)) reducing ability, ferrous ions (Fe(2+)) chelating activity.
