Objective: The aim of the study was to analyze the anti-angiogenic role of thalidomide and to assess whether thalidomide had any influence on a rat model of surgically-induced endometriosis.

Materials And Methods: Endometriosis was induced through surgical induction and homologous transplantation in 16 rats. The rats were randomly separated into two groups as thalidomide (n=8) and control (n=8) groups.

Feasibility and Complications in Concomitant Lung Resection With Minimally Invasive Repair of Pectus Excavatum.

Minimally invasive repair of pectus excavatum (MIRPE) is the procedure of choice in experienced centers and can be offered in combination with other thoracic procedures. Between 2001 and 2013, 3 cases involving MIRPE and lung surgery were done in our clinic. Objective: Ensuring a consistent and systematic approach to the delivery of care for people with advanced disease is a priority for palliative care services worldwide. Many clinical tools are available to aid in this process; however, they are often used sporadically, and implementation of a routine set of clinical tools to guide care planning in the specialist palliative care sector in Australia has not been achieved. The effects of electromagnetic fields on the number of ovarian primordial follicles: An experimental study.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of an electromagnetic field (EMF), generated close to the ovaries, on primordial follicles. A total of 16 rats were used in this study. The study group consisted of rats exposed to an EMF in the abdominal region for 15 min/d for 15 days.

Microbial dynamics during conversion from supragingival to subgingival biofilms in an in vitro model.

The development of dental caries and periodontal diseases result from distinct shifts in the microbiota of the tooth-associated biofilm. This in vitro study aimed to investigate changes in biofilm composition and structure, during the shift from a 'supragingival' aerobic profile to a 'subgingival' anaerobic profile. Biofilms consisting of Actinomyces oris, Candida albicans, Fusobacterium nucleatum, Streptococcus oralis, Streptococcus mutans and Veillonella dispar were aerobically grown in saliva-containing medium on hydroxyapatite disks.

A successful pregnancy during the treatment of cervical sarcoma botryoides and advantage of fertility sparing management: A case report.

Background: Sarcoma botryoides of cervix is a rare variant of rhabdomyosarcomas (RMS) of female genital tract. It is usually diagnosed in first or second decade of life. In this case report, we aimed to present a 21 year-old nulligravid patient who was diagnosed with embryonal RMS of the cervix, to discuss the treatment options that have been stated in the literature, and to highlight the advantage of fertility sparing management in these young patients.
