Protocol for applying Tumor Treating Fields in mouse models of cancer using the inovivo system.

Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) are electric fields clinically approved for cancer treatment, delivered via arrays attached to the patient's skin. Here, we present a protocol for applying TTFields to torso orthotopic and subcutaneous mouse tumor models using the inovivo system. We guide users on proper system component connections, study protocol design, mouse fur depilation, array application, and treatment condition adjustment and monitoring.

Comparison of Freestyle Optium Neo H and Centrivet GK Device in the Diagnosis of Hypoglycaemia and Hyperketonaemia in Dairy Goats: A Field Study.

Background: There is a lack of data on the validation and diagnostic performance of the Freestyle Optium Neo-H (Freestyle) and Centrivet GK (Centrivet) devices for the diagnosis of hypoglycaemia, hyperglycaemia and hyperketonaemia in goats.

Objectives: The aim of the present study was to validate the Freestyle and Centrivet for the analysis of whole blood beta-hydroxybutyric acid (BHBA) and to validate the Freestyle for the analysis of whole blood glucose concentrations using the reference method (RM) in goat blood collected from the jugular and ear veins.

Methods: Venous blood samples were utilised to assess glucose and BHBA concentrations using the Freestyle, Centrivet and RM.

Biomolecular condensates are a ubiquitous component of cells, known for their ability to selectively partition and compartmentalize biomolecules without the need for a lipid membrane. Nevertheless, condensates have been shown to interact with lipid membranes in diverse biological processes, such as autophagy and T-cell activation. Since many condensates are known to have a net surface charge density and associated electric potential(s), we hypothesized that they can induce a local membrane potential.

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between chronotype and premenstrual syndromes with food preferences and appetite among 931 women aged 18-40 who attended a private nutrition clinic in Istanbul. The survey data were analyzed using SPSS v27. Based on voluntary participation, questionnaires consisting of sociodemographic questions, the Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire (MEQ), Premenstrual Syndrome Scale (PSS), Simplified Appetite Questionnaire (SAQ), International Physical Activity Questionnaire (Short Form) (IPAQ), and Food Choice Test (FCT) were administered to women.

Pasture access and social housing influence the behaviour of dairy calves.

This Research Communication set out to (1) evaluate the behaviour and performance of dairy calves raised on pasture individually or in groups, and (2) evaluate the influence of physical enrichment on the behaviour and performance of dairy calves raised in groups on pasture. Although there was no difference in grazing behaviour when housed in groups, calves spent longer eating concentrate, ruminating and drinking water. Additionaly, calves housed individually spend part of their time trying to get close to a neighbouring calf.

Topic Importance: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a complex, heterogeneous lung disease characterized by persistent airflow limitation secondary to airways and parenchymal abnormalities, and respiratory symptoms, including dyspnoea, fatigue, chronic cough, and sputum production. Cigarette smoke exposure is a major contributor to COPD although inhalation of toxic particles and other environmental and host factors can contribute to its genesis. Over time, the clinical course is frequently punctuated by exacerbations that further accelerate lung function decline and increase exacerbation risk.

Objective: Loss of sense of smell is a cardinal symptom of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) and significantly impacts health-related quality-of-life.
