Background: Hepatitis A infections continue to be a major global public health problem. The epidemiology and seroprevalence of hepatitis A virus (HAV) have important public health implications. This study aimed to retrospectively examine the hepatitis A cases and hepatitis A seroprevalence in our region in our hospital with the highest number of inpatient and outpatient cases in Istanbul.

The pathogenesis involves glutamate toxicity, GABA receptor dysfunction, and alterations in NMDA and AMPA receptors. This study aimed to investigate the impact of pre-anesthetic amantadine administration on postoperative recovery time, POCD, and stress-related pain levels when combined with propofol anesthesia.

In this study, it was aimed to examine the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of measles cases detected in our hospital, as well as the measles seroprevalence in our region.
Methods: A total of 7,452 individuals whose measles IgG and/or IgM antibodies were studied between December 2021 and March 2023 in the Medical Virology Laboratory in Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital were included in this retrospective study.
Respiratory tract infections (RTIs) can lead to both recurrent seasonal epidemic outbreaks and devastating pandemics. The aim of this study was to evaluate the epidemiologic characteristics and pathogen spectrum of RTIs using a multiplex RT-PCR panel. A total of 9354 cases with suspected RTIs between February 2021 and July 2023 were included in this study.

According to the results, the sensory evaluation of aroma release was closely similar to the analysis performed with the GC-MS equipment. The Korsmeyer-Peppas model was the best model explaining the menthol release from chewing gum, and it was found that the release was mostly in the form of Fickian diffusion.

Objective: The study aimed to evaluate respiratory virus infections in adult patients with hematological malignancies (HM).
Patients And Methods: The medical records of patients who were followed up by the hematology clinic at Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital between March 2021 and March 2023 with a diagnosis of HM and who underwent real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing for nasopharyngeal/oropharyngeal specimens taken with suspected respiratory tract infection constituted the study data.
Results: Infections were symptomatic in 64.
In Bayesian statistics, the most widely used criteria of Bayesian model assessment and comparison are Deviance Information Criterion (DIC) and Watanabe-Akaike Information Criterion (WAIC). We use a multilevel mediation model as an illustrative example to compare different types of DIC and WAIC. More specifically, we aim to compare the performance of conditional and marginal DICs and WAICs, and investigate their performance with missing data.

A prototypical example occurs with self-report data, where researchers routinely use questionnaires with multiple items that tap into different features of a target construct. Item-level missing data are endemic to composite score applications.

Recent studies have focused on shorter-term connectivity and dynamics in the resting state. However, most of the prior work evaluates changes in time-series correlations.

One hundred SARS-CoV-2, one hundred IAV, and twenty-four IBV patients whose diagnoses were confirmed by clinical and laboratory methods were included in the patient group. Seventy-six patients, who were negative for all respiratory tract viruses, were included as the control group.

Another parameter to determine inflammation and prognosis is albumin. This study was aimed to determine whether TLR, NLR and neutrophil / albumin ratios (NAR) are effective in predicting the severity and course of Corona Virus Disease-2019 (COVID-19).

Methods: A prospective cross-sectional study of 70 consecutive patients who were hospitalized in Haseki Training and Research Hospital with SARS-CoV-2 from February 1 to April 1, 2021, was performed. Tears and conjunctival secretions were collected within 24 h of nasopharyngeal sample collection and examined for SARS-CoV-2 using reverse transcription real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR).
COVID-19 has been associated with central nervous system manifestations; however, cerebral venous thrombosis is rarely reported. A 34-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital with headache and recurrent seizures; she was recently discharged after COVID-19 pneumonia. Cranial magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic resonance venography showed cortical vein thrombosis in the right frontal lobe.

Introduction: The World Health Organization estimates that 71 million people with chronic HCV infection lived worldwide in 2015. HCV is a globally prevalent pathogen, that genotype1 is the most common. In this study, the prevalence of anti-HCV, distributions of HCV genotype, and viremia rates in patients with chronic hepatitis C were evaluated.

This study aimed to examine the relationship between viral load cycle threshold value, clinical prognosis and other laboratory parameters in initial swab samples on the day of hospitalization.
Methodology: This retrospective and cross-sectional study included 112 patients, who were diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 via the Bio-Rad CFX96 TouchTM system.
Background: The software, which was developed according to the principle of perceived control, can be installed on tablets and smartphones and used by patients to help them control their anxiety.
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a specially designed mobile application developed to provide patients with a sense of anxiety control during the various stages of endodontic treatment. The patients' anxiety was assessed by measuring their salivary cortisol levels.
Missing data such as data missing at random (MAR) are unavoidable in real data and have the potential to undermine the validity of research results. Multiple imputation is one of the most widely used MAR-based methods in education and behavioral science applications. Arbitrarily specifying imputation models can lead to incompatibility and cause biased estimation.

Patients And Methods: Patients with leukemia and lymphoma, who were diagnosed between 2000 and 2012 (at least 2 two years after remission) were included. Data obtained through reviewing the family history, demographic characteristics, anthropometric measurements, and laboratory parameters (blood glucose, lipid, and insulin levels) were analyzed and compared at the time of diagnosis, after the treatment and at time of the study.

This study aimed to assess the effects of methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) and ethyl acetate (EA) on dentin microhardness, used as resin sealer solvents. Eighty halves of single-rooted teeth were randomly divided into four groups to apply MEK, EA, chloroform, or saline solution. Vickers hardness values were measured for three root levels before and after the direct application of solvents for 5 and 15 minutes or a 1-minute application with ultrasonic agitation.

In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of combination of KD and regular voluntary exercise on anxiety and depression-like behavior in Balb/c mice. We've demostrated that anxiety and depression levels decreased in KD-exercised (KD-Ex) mice.

Materials And Methods: Fifty-four teeth of 50 patients, which had cariously pulp exposures were randomly divided into Biodentine, MTA, and CH groups for partial pulpotomy treatments and finally restored with stainless steel crowns at the same appointment. Clinical and radiographical success was evaluated by the absence of any clinical and radiographical signs and symptoms for 12 months.
Zhu-Tokita-Takenouchi-Kim (ZTTK) syndrome, an intellectual disability syndrome first described in 2016, is caused by heterozygous loss-of-function variants in SON. Its encoded protein promotes pre-mRNA splicing of many genes essential for development. Whereas individual phenotypic traits have previously been linked to erroneous splicing of SON target genes, the phenotypic spectrum and the pathogenicity of missense variants have not been further evaluated.
