Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of endorphin massage and dance applied by spouses during labor on labor pain, satisfaction with childbirth, postpartum comfort, and person-centered maternity care.
Materials And Methods: The sample of this randomized controlled experimental study consists of 105 pregnant women in their second childbirth (35 in the birth dance group,35 in the endorphin massage group, and 35 in the control group). The endorphin massage taught by the researcher to the pregnant women and their spouses was applied for 10 min.
In this perspective, we present and discuss four major causes of the worldwide nature conservation failure: 1) ideologies based on nature-culture dualism, 2) the bias prioritising forests in conservation, 3) the illusory objectiveness of selected biological indicators, and 4) the mismanagement of rural agricultural landscapes. All of these relate to ignorance of historical ecology and neglect of the role past plays in shaping landscapes and fostering biodiversity. These led to a false anthropology focussed on the broader human economy (including agriculture) as the absolute culprit of biodiversity loss.

Methods: This research was conducted as an experimental study based on a randomized controlled pre-test and post-test model (single-blind). The study was conducted with women in the climacteric period who presented to a training and research hospital in a western city of Turkey between November 1, 2022, and April 28, 2023.
Predictive biomarkers are necessary for the identification of immunotherapy-responsive patients. Tumor mutation burden (TMB), as determined by next-generation sequencing (NGS), and PD-L1 expression, as evaluated by Immunohistochemistry (IHC), are the biomarkers most frequently employed in clinical practice. In addition, microsatellite instability (MSI) was the first biomarker to demonstrate immunotherapy efficacy irrespective of the type of tumor and possesses a high predictive value.

However, there is no measurement tool developed for intensive care patients that examines the risks of ocular complications.
Aims: This study aimed to develop a valid and reliable tool, the Critically Ill Patient Eye Assessment Scale (CIPEAS), for assessing the risk of ocular complications and determining the frequency of eye care.
Objective: Preeclampsia is one of the most common complaints during pregnancy. Preeclamptic pregnant women may experience insomnia and anxiety.
Methods: This study was a randomized controlled trial with 71 preeclamptic women.
Background: Midwives have important responsibilities to protect the health of mothers and children from the negative effects of climate change.
Aim: This research was conducted to determine how midwives perceived climate change, the effects of climate change on maternal and child health, and what midwives could do to combat these effects.
Methods: The research was designed as a case study, one of the qualitative research designs.
Purpose: To evaluate the initial visual outcomes of Small Incision Lenticule Extraction (SMILE) Pro® using a 2 MHz femtosecond laser (VisuMax 800, Carl Zeiss Meditec) and to assess the efficacy, safety, predictability, accuracy, and complication rate.
Methods: This retrospective analysis included eyes which underwent the SMILE Pro® procedure using VisuMax 800 femtosecond laser to correct myopia. All surgeries were performed by one surgeon (DB).
Angiotensin II (Ang II), a key mediator of vascular diseases, is linked to methylglyoxal (MGO) formation, a by-product of glucose metabolism implicated in vascular complications. The glyoxalase system, consisting of glyoxalase 1 (Glo1) and reduced glutathione (GSH), is responsible for detoxifying MGO. This study investigated the effect of Ang II on Glo1 activity and expression in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs).

Monitoring the spatiotemporal variations of lake's water surface and its salinization is essential for planning and adopting mitigation measures.

However, data regarding the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines in reducing mortality among critically ill patients with COVID-19 remains unclear.
Aims: To determine the vaccination status and investigate the impact of the COVID-19 vaccine on the 28-day mortality in critically ill patients with COVID-19.
This study was conducted to determine the spiritual care needs of cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. A cross-sectional descriptive design was used to analyze a total of 104 patients at a university hospital in Turkey. The data were collected using the Spiritual Care Needs Scale.

In this study, classical molecular dynamics simulations with Stillinger-Weber potential were carried out to explore the fundamental mechanical characteristics of two stable allotropes of antimonene nanotubes (SbNTs), namely puckered (α-) and buckled (β-) nanotubes. Mechanical properties and deformation mechanisms of antimonene nanotubes, including ultimate tensile strength, fracture strain, and Young's modulus, were thoroughly examined by considering chirality, diameter, temperature, and strain rate variables.

Objectives: Assess the impact of NPIs on the spread and seasonal characteristics of non-SARS-CoV-2 respiratory viruses and examine viral respiratory co-infections.
Design: Retrospective cohort SETTING: Single center in Turkey.

Objective: Fatigue is a common adverse experience in postpartum women and can seriously affect maternal and infant health and quality of life. The aim of this study was to adapt the validity and reliability of the postnatal accumulated fatigue scale (PAFS) for postpartum mothers.
Methods: The sample of the cross-sectional methodological study consisted of 140 postpartum mothers.
Objective: It is important to determine the presence of SARS-CoV-2 in the vaginal fluid samples of reproductive-aged women with severe disease during the acute stage of the disease and to determine the risks of transmission by sexual or vertical transmission.
Material And Methods: Adult women with confirmed severe COVID-19 who were admitted to Ankara City Hospital intensive care unit (ICU) between December 1st, 2020, and January 1st, 2021, were enrolled in the study. Vaginal swab samples were collected within 48 h in the ICU using Dacron or rayon swabs and tested for SARS-CoV-2 using reverse transcription real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT PCR).
The study established the water quality modelling of the Bosphorus system, based on hydrodynamic data as well as the results of the water quality survey carried out in the last five years. The model revealed significant decrease in the magnitude of pollutant loads in the upper layer at the exit into The Marmara Sea providing numerical proof that no pollutant transport would take place from sewage discharges to the upper layer. A similar modelling approach was implemented at the Bosphorus/Marmara interface, a significant hotspot as it included two major deep marine outfalls.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the effect of mutations by comparing wild-type SARS-CoV-2 and Omicron regarding clinical features in patients with COVID-19. It also aimed to assess whether SARS-CoV-2 cycle threshold value could predict COVID-19 severity.
Methods: A total of 960 wild-type and 411 Omicron variant patients with positive results in SARS-CoV-2 real-time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction test from oropharyngeal and/or nasopharyngeal samples during their hospital admissions were included in this retrospective study.
Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of daily consumption of high-polyphenol (HP) olive oil on neurogenesis by investigating neuronal cell proliferation and maturation in the hippocampus of old rats, and to evaluate the relationship between neurogenesis, spatial memory, and anxiety-like behavior.
Methods: A total of 34 female, 20-22-month-old Sprague Dawley rats were divided into three groups: control group, low-polyphenol (LP) group, and high-polyphenol (HP) group. The animals were fed distilled water, LP olive oil and HP-extra virgin olive oil, respectively for 6 weeks using an oral gavage.

This paper investigates the relationship between income inequality and environmental degradation for the case of Turkey between 1987 and 2017 through the bootstrap causality method that changes over time. The study used the GINI coefficient to denote income inequality and ecological footprint (EFP) to represent environmental degradation. According to the analysis results, a causal relationship has been determined for Turkey from GINI to EFP between 2002 and 2015 and from EFP to GINI between 2002 and 2008.
