Simple and rapid method has been developed for the determination of cefixime trihydrate in bulk and pharmaceutical formulations. This method was based on the formation of bluish-green ion-pair complex of cefixime trihydrate with bromophenol blue in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO)-acetonitrile medium.
