Although yoga improves physical functioning, balance, and quality of life in older adults, rural residents are less likely to participate due to issues related to availability, access, and beliefs regarding yoga practice. To address these barriers, we worked with community partners to adapt a yoga program designed for older adults for telehealth delivery. In this report, intervention development and process outcomes are presented.

The causes remain unclear. The present study investigated the presence of sleep disorders in patients with post-COVID syndrome using polysomnography.

While these conditions often limit personal independence and autonomy, they are also associated with treatment-related problems and reduced life expectancy. Epilepsy has a tremendous impact on the QoL of patients and their families, which is often underestimated by practitioners.

Epilepsy patients show a high risk in developing FS; therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine morphometric correlates in patients with FS as well as in epilepsy patients with FS by comparing them separately to healthy controls (HC).
Methods: Twenty-one clinical three-dimensional (3D) T1-magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans of patients with FS (FS group) and 15 patients with FS and epilepsy (EFS group) were retrospectively compared with one control group of 21 age- and gender-matched HC.
Assessment of regional language lateralization is crucial in many scenarios, but not all populations are suited for its evaluation via task-functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). In this study, the utility of structural connectome features for the classification of language lateralization in the anterior temporal lobes (ATLs) was investigated. Laterality indices for semantic processing in the ATL were computed from task-fMRI in 1038 subjects from the Human Connectome Project who were labeled as stronger rightward lateralized (RL) or stronger leftward to bilaterally lateralized (LL) in a data-driven approach.

While the vagus nerve's role in gut motility is physiologically established, the effect of taVNS has scarcely been investigated in humans and yielded conflicting results. Real-time gastric magnetic resonance imaging (rtMRI) is an established reproducible method to investigate gastric motility non-invasively.

Given that these machines are expensive and have long lead times, one approach is to vacate them for patients in critical conditions while patients with mild to moderate symptoms are treated with stripped-down ventilators. We propose a mass-producible solution that can create such ventilators with minimum effort.

Methods: Data on adult patients treated with STP from March 2007 to July 2020 and with at least one clinical follow-up (FU) were retrospectively reviewed. Data on tolerability, efficacy and concomitant medication were evaluated at baseline, 6 months (5.
Objective: The present study validates the results of automated hippocampal subfield segmentation with histopathology in epilepsy patients undergoing epilepsy surgery.
Methods: We performed an automated hippocampal subfield segmentation on presurgical three-dimensional, T1-weighted magnetization Prepared Rapid Acquisition of Gradient Echoes Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data of 25 patients with unilateral mesial temporal lobe epilepsy due to hippocampal sclerosis (HS), using Freesurfer Version 6.0.
The Flynn effect describes an increase in intelligence quotient (IQ) in the general population of about 3 points per decade. While this effect is well established in healthy individuals, research exploring the link to brain pathologies is scarce. We investigated the Flynn effect in a German sample of 203 patients with epilepsy with left, right, and bilateral lesions.

Design: Retrospective, observational multicentre study.
Objectives: To assess first clinical experiences with brivaracetam (BRV) in the treatment of epilepsies.
Methods: Data on patients treated with BRV from February to December 2016 and with at least one clinical follow-up were collected from electronic patient records. Data on safety and efficacy were evaluated retrospectively.
Background: Unintentional falls affect 30% of people over age 65 years. Yoga has been shown to improve balance. We designed this study to examine if yoga reduces falls.

Objectives: Work with local rural organizations to develop an evidence-based hatha yoga program intended to improve core strength and balance to reduce falls risk. Feasibility determined by successful recruiting, intervention and evaluation of participants and acceptable frequency of adverse events.
Design: Single-arm pilot study.

Ageing and liver disease are associated with ultrastructural changes in the hepatic sinusoid. Because of the possibility that reactive oxygen species could mediate these processes, we examined the effect of acute oxidative stress on the ultrastructure of the intact liver. Rat livers were perfused ex vivo, in situ with hydrogen peroxide via the portal vein.
