The emergence of carbapenem-resistant (CRAB) in hospitals, particularly within critical care units, has garnered substantial global concern. CRAB commonly arises from the degradation by various ß-lactamases. : We aimed to assess OXA-type carbapenemases in clinical isolates of obtained from an Egyptian tertiary care facility.

In addition to an abundance of studies and meta-analyses on the treatment of COVID-19, different medications used in the intensive care unit will have a significant impact on mortality. The study attempted to highlight, compare, and quantify the impact on outcomes.

Lactobacilli, which make up the majority of healthy vaginal microbiota (VMB), serve as a powerful barrier against infections. Probiotic therapy has been recommended for the treatment or prevention of VVC.

Endobronchial valves (EBVs) are a novel, minimally invasive bronchoscopic management technique for persistent air leaks that fail conservative therapy. Currently, 2 EBVs are available in the United States: the Spiration Valve System (Olympus, Redmond, WA) and the Zephyr Valve (Pulmonx, Redwood, CA). These valves are Food and Drug Administration-approved to reduce hyperinflation in emphysematous patients via bronchoscopic lung-volume reduction.

Peptides are mainly inserted in the liposomal lipid bilayer using PEG-lipid spacer (Peptide-PEG-DSPE). However, a lower cellular uptake from longer nonlinear PEG spacer was reported, we here synthesized a high functionality and quality (HFQ) lipid with a short, linear serine-glycine repeated peptide [(SG)] spacer.

Objectives: The study aimed to compare the sensitivity and specificity of both tests for the prediction of FR in mechanically ventilated patients with hemodynamic instability.
Methods: We studied 46 patients.
In this study, chitosan (CS) caged classic liposomes (CLs) and flexible liposomes (FLs) were developed to enhance the oral bioavailability of rivaroxaban (RVX) in the fasted condition. The prepared formulations were subjected to physicochemical characterization included: FTIR, DSC, zeta potential, particle size, polydispersity index, entrapment efficiency, dissolution, and transmission electron microscope imaging. The selected formulation (RVX-TFL2) composed of PL S100/Tween 80 (85/15% w/w) and coated with CS solution in the strength of (0.

Connective tissue disorders may affect aortic function, and a stiff aorta may increase the severity of MR. Aortic function, however, has not been studied in FMV/MVP with MR.

Methods: A prospective observational study was performed over a period from May 2015 to August 2017 at Obstetrics and Gynecology Department in Zagazig University Hospitals, Egypt.
Deregulated immunity is one of the most important factors implicated in recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL). The possible role of interleukin-33 (IL-33) and forkhead/winged helix transcription factor (Foxp3) in RPL have not been fully investigated. We aimed to evaluate IL-33 rs1929992 and Foxp3 rs2232365 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and their serum levels in Egyptian RPL females.

The bioavailability study was carried out for 24 healthy male volunteers. The subjects received 1 Zednad® Tablet (500 mg/ tablet) and 1 Zinnat® Tablet (500 mg/tablet) in a randomized, two-way crossover design fashion on 2 treatment days, after an overnight fast of at least 10 h, with a washout period of 7 days.

Methods: A prospective controlled clinical study was conducted on 26 clomiphene-resistant women with PCOS who were scheduled for LOD and a control group of 22 fertile regularly menstruating women. VEGF and 3 ovarian Doppler indices-vascularization index, flow index, and vascularization flow index-were measured and compared between the 2 groups, and before and after LOD in the PCOS group.
Solid lipid nanoparticle (SLNs) formulae were utilized for the release of 5-flurouracil (5-FU) inside the colonic medium for local treatment of colon cancer. SLNs were prepared by double emulsion-solvent evaporation technique (w/o/w) using triglyceride esters, Dynasan™ 114 or Dynasan™ 118 along with soyalecithin as the lipid parts. Different formulation parameters; including type of Dynasan, soyalicithin:Dynasan ratio, drug:total lipid ratio, and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) concentration were studied with respect to particle size and drug entrapment efficiency.
