Obesity became a serious public health problem with enormous socioeconomic implications among the Egyptian population. The present investigation aimed to explore the efficacy of extract as a hypolipidemic agent combined with the commercially well-known anti-obesity drug simvastatin in obese rats. Thirty-five male Wister rats were randomly divided into five groups as follows: group I received a standard balanced diet for ten weeks; high-fat diet was orally administered to rats in groups II-V for ten weeks.

Progesterone receptor (PR) agonists represent pivotal agents in trapping breast cancer cells through modulating the expression of estrogen receptor (ER). The present investigation aimed to test three novel thiadiazole-containing compounds as antibreast cancer agents. Test compounds were synthesized and abbreviated as 2-{(5-amino-1, 3, 4-thiazole-2-yl) amino}-4-(4-chloro-3-methylphenyl)-4-oxobutanoic acid (TAB), 4-(4-chloro-3-methylphenyl)-4-oxo 2-[(5-sulfanyl-1, 3, 4-thiadiazol-2-yl)] sulfanyl-butanoic acid (TSB) and 4-(4-chloro-3-methylphenyl)-4-oxo 2-[(5-sulfanyl-1, 3, 4-thiadiazol-2-yl)] sulphonyl-botanic acid (TSSB).

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a possible oncogenic progression during persistent hepatitis C-infection +/- type II diabetes mellitus (DM).
