Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is a medical imaging modality relying on numerical methods that integrate the statistical properties of the measurements and prior assumptions about the images. In order to maximize the computed image quality, PET reconstruction algorithms require the setting of hyperparameters that balance data fidelity with regularization. However, their optimal tuning depends on the statistical properties of the raw data and on the clinical objectives.

A lot of research has been lately dedicated to develop machine learning and statistical signal processing methods exploiting graph representations to solve inference and estimation problems. This is particularly relevant in the case of functional connectivity analysis from Electroencephalography (EEG) signals. However, the widely adopted functional connectivity metrics are hand-crafted, and thus suffer from the redundant and sometimes irrelevant information due to the volume conduction problem.

Methods: We used data from the multicentric cross-sectional "Premier Pas" study conducted in the Parisian and Bordeaux regions from February to April 2019. Participants over 18 years of age were recruited from sixty-three sites.
Background: Social determinants of health (SDH) impact the health status of individuals around the world. General practitioners (GPs) can take into account the social situation of patients in their care practice. To this end, the College of General Medicine (CGM) issued recommendations in 2022 to propose 100 methods of action.

The aim of the present study was to determine the prevalence and factors associated with breakfast skipping among schoolchildren aged 12-19 years in Beni Mellal city, Morocco, and to assist in the design of interventions to improve breakfast consumption habits of school-aged children in this region.
Methods: A school-based cross-sectional study was carried out.

Blood flow observation is of high interest in cardiovascular disease diagnosis and assessment. For this purpose, 2D Phase-Contrast MRI is widely used in the clinical routine. 4D flow MRI sequences, which dynamically image the anatomic shape and velocity vectors within a region of interest, are promising but rarely used due to their low resolution and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).

Superior mesenteric artery syndrome is an acquired vascular compression disorder resulting from the compression of the third portion of the duodenum, which is the first part of the small intestine, leading to a reduction in the space between the aorta and the superior mesenteric artery. Although rare, superior mesenteric artery syndrome-induced pancreatitis has been documented in the literature. This article presents the case of a 20-year-old female patient with a history of colectomy for acute severe colitis, resulting in significant weight loss.

However, while the number of GPs has been declining for many years in France, leading to the emergence of medical deserts, the impact on their patients remains to be explored. The aim of this study was to understand patients' perceptions of their GP's retirement.

In this context, the ability to simulate several cardiac electrical behaviors was crucial for evaluating and comparing the performance of inversion methods. For this application, existing models are either too complex or do not produce realistic cardiac patterns.

During this phase, phagolysosomes are fragmented into smaller vesicles, which we called phagosome-derived vesicles (PDVs). PDVs gradually accumulate within macrophages, while the phagosomes diminish in size until the organelles are no longer detectable.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFilamentous targets are internalized via phagocytic cups that last for several minutes before closing to form a phagosome. This characteristic offers the possibility to study key events in phagocytosis with greater spatial and temporal resolution than is possible to achieve using spherical particles, for which the transition from a phagocytic cup to an enclosed phagosome occurs within a few seconds after particle attachment. In this chapter, we provide methodologies to prepare filamentous bacteria and describe how they can be used as targets to study different aspects of phagocytosis.

In recent times, challenges related to user experience are determining the expected MWL value for a given activity and real-time adaptation of task complexity level to achieve or maintain desired MWL. As a consequence, it is important to have at least one task that can reliably predict the MWL level associated with a given complexity level.

The secondary objectives were to evaluate POCUS-hd for intrauterine pregnancy (IUP) detection compared to transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound (TUTV), evaluate the inter-device agreement and inter-rater reliability of gestational age during early pregnancy. It is an observational transverse study with consecutive patient recruitment.

For potato tubers, it greatly assists the study of tissue defects and tissue evolution during storage. This paper describes the MRI analysis of potato tubers with internal defects in their flesh tissue at eight sampling dates from 14 to 33 weeks after harvest.

However, it is difficult to measure deprivation at an individual level and already-existing indices in France are not validated or do not meet the needs of health practitioners. The aim of this work was to establish a validated, easy-to-use, multidimensional, relevant index that was representative of the population in the Paris metropolitan area.
