Small Round Blue Cell Tumours of the Sinonasal Area: Our 5 year Experience in a Tertiary Care Centre in India.

The main purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics and management of sinonasal small round blue cell tumors and also to emphasise the role of immunohistochemistry in their diagnosis and on the outcomes after endoscopic/open excision in these patients. This is a retrospective study conducted at a tertiary care referral centre in India which included 38 patients with sino nasal for a period of 5 years. All the patients were evaluated clinically and radiologically.

Recurrent Meningitis in a Non-user Cochlear Implantee.

Meningitis is a known complication in patients with inner ear malformations. Here we present a case of recurrent meningitis following cochlear implantation, in a patient with cochleovestibular anomaly. Good knowledge in radiology to identify the inner ear malformations, presence of cochlea and cochlear nerve is essential before planning cochlear implantation and meningitis can occur several decades after cochlear implantation.

A Comparative Study on Outcomes of Type 1 Underlay Tympanoplasty with and Without Anterior Tucking of Temporals Fascia Graft.

Tympanoplasty is a surgical procedure which includes eradication of disease from the middle ear and reconstruction of the hearing mechanism with or without tympanic membrane repair. The purpose of this article was to compare the clinical and audiological outcomes of Type 1 underlay tympanoplasty with or without anterior tucking of the temporals fascia graft. This is a prospective interventional study which included 100 patients between 15 and 60 years of age, diagnosed with chronic otitis media, mucosal disease inactive stage.

A Tertiary Care Centre Experience on the Management of Paediatric Tracheobronchial Foreign Body During the COVID 19 Pandemic.

Tracheobronchial foreign body aspiration (FBA) is a life threatening emergency most commonly seen among paediatric age group that requires immediate therapeutic intervention. The purpose of this study is to report our experience on management of these aspirated foreign body (FB) with rigid bronchoscopy during the COVID 19 pandemic. This is a retrospective study which included 100 children less than 17 years of age, diagnosed with suspected FBA and underwent rigid bronchoscopy for its removal between March 2020 and March 2021.

An Unusual Case of Stubborn Petrified Pinna.

Petrified pinna is clinically characterized by an unbending rigid stone hard ear. Usually, the majority of the patients are asymptomatic but occasionally may experience pain from local pressure while sleeping. This uncommon condition is reported to be in association with local trauma, hypothermia, inflammation, and several life-threatening endocrine and systemic diseases.

Standard Programming of Retrograde Electrode Insertion via Middle-Turn Cochleostomy in Labyrinthitis Ossificans.

Successful cochlear implantation in the setting of labyrinthitis ossificans is challenging. Various surgical techniques are described to circumvent the region of ossification and retrograde insertion of the electrode array is one such option. While reverse programming is often recommended in the case of retrograde electrode insertion, we present our experience of retrograde electrode insertion for labyrinthitis ossificans, where standard programming was adopted due to patient preference and provided satisfactory outcomes.
