Planting floral resources is a common strategy for increasing the abundance and diversity of beneficial flower-visiting insects in human-modified systems. However, the context of the local area and surrounding landscape may affect the attractiveness of these floral resource provisioning plots. We compared the relative effects of local floral resources and surrounding urban land-use on the abundance of bees on flowering plants in common gardens in eastern Tennessee, USA.

The Impact of Multimorbidity on Labor Force Participation Among the Middle-Aged and Older Working Population in the United States.

Objectives: Multimorbidity, known as multiple chronic conditions (MCC), is the coexistence of two or more chronic health conditions (CHC). The near-retirement-age population with MCC is more likely to experience discontinued labor force participation (LFP). Our objective was to evaluate the impact of MCC on LFP among adults aged 50-64 and to explore heterogeneous effects between self-employed and non-self-employed workers.

The Predictive Value of Qanadli and Miller Index Scores in Patients with Intermediate-High-Risk and High-Risk Pulmonary Emboli Undergoing Aspiration Thrombectomy.

Purpose: To evaluate the correlation between clot burden and pulmonary artery pressures in patients undergoing suction thromboembolectomy for high-risk and intermediate-high-risk pulmonary embolism with secondary outcomes of 30-day mortality and intensive care unit (ICU) length of stay.

Materials And Methods: Institutional review board (IRB) exemption was granted for this retrospective study. The charts of 120 consecutive patients who underwent mechanical thromboembolectomy using the Flowtriever system (Inari Medical, Irvine, California) between February 2020 and August 2022 were retrospectively reviewed, and the following data were collected: (a) preprocedural B-type natriuretic peptide and creatinine levels, (b) echocardiographic findings, (c) preprocedural and postprocedural pulmonary artery pressures, (d) ICU length of stay, and (e) 30-day mortality.

A nurse-led model of care to improve access to contraception and abortion in rural general practice: Co-design with consumers and providers.

Aim: To describe key features of a co-designed nurse-led model of care intended to improve access to early medication abortion and long-acting reversible contraception in rural Australian general practice.

Design: Co-design methodology informed by the Experience-Based Co-Design Framework.

Methods: Consumers, nurses, physicians and key women's health stakeholders participated in a co-design workshop focused on the patient journey in seeking contraception or abortion care.

Do Chosen Learning Strategies Predict Academic Performance in First-Year DPT Anatomy Students?

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to identify predictors of anatomy final course grades from first-year physical therapist students' characteristics and chosen learning strategies, as indicated on the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ). Identifying factors that contribute to success in content intensive classes may aid in coaching successful learning strategies as students transition from undergraduate coursework to Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) programs.

Review Of Literature: Previous studies show that first-year graduate students use ineffective learning strategies that are insufficient for graduate-level study.

Nurse and midwife involvement in task-sharing and telehealth service delivery models in primary care: A scoping review.

Aim: To synthesise and map current evidence on nurse and midwife involvement in task-sharing service delivery, including both face-to-face and telehealth models, in primary care.

Design: This scoping review was informed by the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Methodology for Scoping Reviews.

Data Source/review Methods: Five databases (Ovid MEDLINE, Embase, PubMed, CINAHL and Cochrane Library) were searched from inception to 16 January 2024, and articles were screened for inclusion in Covidence by three authors.

Nanobioelectrocatalysis Using Human Liver Microsomes and Cytochrome P450 Bactosomes: Pyrenyl-Nanocarbon Electrodes.

Human liver microsomes containing various drug-metabolizing cytochrome P450 (P450) enzymes, along with their NADPH-reductase bound to phospholipid membranes, were absorbed onto 1-pyrene butylamine pi-pi stacked with amine-functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotube-modified graphite electrodes. The interfaced microsomal biofilm demonstrated direct electrochemical communication with the underlying electrode surface and enhanced oxygen reduction electrocatalytic activity typical of heme enzymes such as P450s over the unmodified electrodes and nonenzymatic currents. Similar enhancements in currents were observed when the bioelectrodes were constructed with recombinant P450 2C9 (single isoform) expressed bactosomes.

Women's needs for lifestyle risk reduction engagement during the interconception period: a scoping review.

Background: Unhealthy lifestyle is responsible for many chronic conditions, and antenatal engagement with women about lifestyle behaviours can be too late to prevent some adverse pregnancy outcomes and subsequent childhood risks. To reduce the risk of future adverse outcomes, the interconception period is an opportunity to implement positive health changes. The aim of this scoping review was to explore women's needs for lifestyle risk reduction engagement during the interconception period.

Co-design of a nurse-led model of care to increase access to medical abortion and contraception in rural and regional general practice: A protocol.

Problem: Women in rural and regional Australia experience a number of barriers to accessing sexual and reproductive health care including lack of local services, high costs and misinformation.

Setting: Nurse-led task-sharing models of care for provision of long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) and early medical abortion (EMA) are one strategy to reduce barriers and improve access to services but have yet to be developed in general practice.

Key Measures For Improvement: Through a co-design process, we will develop a nurse-led model of care for LARC and EMA provision that can be delivered through face-to-face consultations or via telehealth in rural general practice in Australia.

TGFβ Drives Metabolic Perturbations during Epithelial Mesenchymal Transition in Pancreatic Cancer: TGFβ Induced EMT in PDAC.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a highly lethal malignancy wherein a majority of patients present metastatic disease at diagnosis. Although the role of epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT), mediated by transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ), in imparting an aggressive phenotype to PDAC is well documented, the underlying biochemical pathway perturbations driving this behaviour have not been elucidated. We used high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) based molecular phenotyping approach in order to delineate metabolic changes concomitant to TGFβ-induced EMT in pancreatic cancer cells.
