A 42-year-old man, a known case of FGF23-dependent hypophosphatemia, underwent 68 Ga- DOTATATE PET-CT, which showed a somatostatin receptor-expressing lesion in the left arch of foramen magnum that was correlated on MRI as a soft tissue lesion measuring 2.2 × 1.3 cm.

Article Synopsis
  • Cholangiocarcinomas (CCA) are rare cancers that often go undiagnosed for years due to vague symptoms and typically have a poor prognosis because they are usually discovered at an advanced stage.
  • CCA commonly spreads to the liver and nearby lymph nodes but can also spread to other organs like bone and lungs in rare cases.
  • Treatments include surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and photodynamic therapy, but recurrence is high, leading many patients to need palliative care; in this case, a middle-aged man had pain in his right ring finger, which turned out to be a digital metastasis from CCA.

Two radiation induced small leaf mutants were isolated in a Spanish Improved variety of groundnut. Both had more than a 50% reduced leaflet size which was associated with an increased number of imparipinnate leaves in one mutant and light yellow flower colour in the other. Genetic studies demonstrated that both mutants were allelic and controlled by recessive factors.

A spontaneous dwarf mutant of groundnut variety, Kopergaon-3, showed differential expression for plant height and secondary branching characters in the reciprocal F1 populations. These differences were assumed to be due to the interaction of nuclear and cytoplasmic factors which mutated with dwarfness.Segregation for dwarfness in the F2 and F3 generations confirmed the monogenic inheritance.
