- An 83-year-old woman with leg pain underwent endovascular therapy (EVT) for severe stenosis in the right superficial femoral artery (SFA) using the Jetstream™ atherectomy system and a paclitaxel-coated balloon (PCB).
- Although the initial procedure showed lumen improvement, her symptoms returned 9 months later due to the development of a pseudoaneurysm and severe stenosis.
- This case highlights the risk of pseudoaneurysm as a complication of EVT with the Jetstream™ system, despite its benefits in treating calcified arterial lesions.
Malignant tumors originating from the heart are extremely rare. Here, we report a case of severe right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) stenosis in a 67 year-old woman caused by a massive intimal sarcoma that required venous-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation to support systemic circulation. Surgical resection and RVOT reconstruction with tricuspid and pulmonary valve replacement were performed.
