Objectives: This longitudinal text-mining study examines dental hygiene students' perceptions of dental hygienists and dentists at three different points in time during their training course. The null hypothesis of the study was that there would be no change in the dental hygiene students' perceptions of the dental hygienists and dentists over the course of 3 years.

Materials And Methods: First-year dental hygiene students participated in this study beginning with the academic year 2020.

Ruptured Ovarian Cystic Teratoma: A Rare Diagnosis, Easily to Be Confused with Peritoneal Carcinomatosis.

Although ovarian cystic teratoma is the most common ovarian tumor, complications are quite rare. However, it is important to be recognized by the radiologist in order to avoid inaccurately diagnosing them as malignant lesions. This case report describes a 61-year-old postmenopausal woman, who presented to the emergency room with abdominal pain following a minor blunt abdominal trauma.

Subjective Symptoms Linked to Sleep Duration: An Analysis from Japanese National Statistics.

Background: There is a high prevalence of sleep disorders in Japan, and they are a factor in a decreased quality of life. The main objective of this study was to clarify the background factors of sleep disorders that affect sleep duration, such as subjective symptoms and working hours.

Methods: We performed a cross-sectional study on the Japanese national statistics data.

Dental hygiene and dental students' motivations for future work: a cross-sectional study of first-year students at a dental hygiene school and a dental school in Japan.

Background: It is important to understand the career motivations and perceptions of students who intend to become dental health professionals. Both dental and dental hygiene students may have different opinions about the profession and future work prospects. To our knowledge, no study has compared the career motivations and career perceptions of Japanese dental and dental hygiene students after admission to dental or dental hygiene school.

High-Resolution Computed Tomography in Middle Ear Cholesteatoma: How Much Do We Need It?

: The diagnosis of cholesteatoma is usually clinic, and the only efficient treatment is surgical. High-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) is not considered absolutely necessary for the management of an uncomplicated cholesteatoma, but unsuspected situations from a clinical point of view can be discovered using the scans, warning the surgeon. Our objective is to compare HRCT scan information with intraoperative findings in patients with cholesteatoma and analyze the usefulness of a preoperative HRCT scan from a surgical point of view.

[MSI-high ascending colon cancer treated with second-line ipilimumab plus nivolumab for conversion surgery:a case report].

Background And Aim: A 93-year-old woman who was bedridden with severe dementia was referred to our department with a 3-day history of repeated vomiting after meals. Computed tomography revealed significant dilatation of the duodenum up to the level of the third portion, which was compressed by a large, low-density mass. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy showed narrowing of the third portion of the duodenum with edematous mucosa covered with multiple white spots, where the endoscope was able to pass through with mild resistance.

Generic Drug Usage in Dentistry across Japan: Analysis Using a Japanese National Database.

The aim of this study was to identify regional disparities in generic drug usage and to examine related factors. The database used for the analysis was the 2018 national health insurance claims data published on the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare. The drugs that were targeted were a combination of brand-name and generic tetracycline ointments for periodontal treatment and lidocaine injection solution used for dental anesthesia.

A Rare Case of COVID-19 Pneumonia Concomitant with Bleeding from Acute Gastric Mucosal Lesions.

A 70-year-old man was diagnosed with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pneumonia. Twenty-six days after admission, he experienced hematemesis despite improvement in his respiratory symptoms. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography revealed edematous stomach wall thickening with neither ischemic findings in the gastric wall nor obstruction of the gastric artery.

Methods: rh-HGF was administered to mice, and their livers were investigated for the PD marker.

This retrospective analysis investigated chemosensitivity testing of peritoneal metastases collected during cytoreductive surgery (CRS), and its impact on survival in patients with colorectal cancer.

Methods: All patients with peritoneal metastasis from colorectal cancer who underwent CRS with or without hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) between November 2008 and October 2014 were included.

A woman in her 70s with systemic sclerosis experienced dyspnea, and consequently, she was diagnosed with an esophago-pleural fistula, which was caused by a perforated esophageal ulcer.
