Adherence to thyroid therapy and depressive status among patients with hypothyroidism in the northern of Jordan: A cross-sectional study.

Hypothyroidism is a chronic and progressive medical condition that requires extreme adherence to medication in order to effectively manage the disease. The aim of this study was to examine patients' adherence to their thyroid therapy and their depressive status and their associated predictors. This is a cross-sectional study that was conducted between April and June 2023 using a sample of chronic hypothyroidism patients visiting the Jordan University of Science and Technology Health Center in Irbid, along with the Family Medicine and Endocrine clinic at King Abdullah University Hospital.

Outcome in TFCC repair using micro anchor and trans‑osseous technique.

The triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) is an intrinsic stabiliser of the distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ), which serves an important role in wrist movement, forearm rotation and grip strength. A stable DRUJ is a key requirement for pain-free movement of the wrist. TFCC tears are a common ulnar-sided wrist pain associated with decreased grip strength and impaired function.

A review of scaphoid fracture, treatment outcomes, and consequences.

Purpose: Scaphoid fractures are the most common carpal fracture and can lead to severe complications like carpal collapse and osteoarthritis. This study reviewed scaphoid fracture patterns, outcomes, and consequences in conservative and surgical management.

Methods: Sixty-four patients with scaphoid fracture who attended the hand clinic at King Hussein Medical City from January 2022 to December 2022 were included and reviewed regarding the anatomical fracture site, the associated injury, the treatment modality (conservative versus surgical), the healing time, and fracture sequelae such as nonunion and scaphoid nonunion advanced collapse.

Depression Among University Students in Jordan After the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Background: University students encounter stressors that make them more susceptible to depression than the general population. Depression negatively impacts mental and physical health. Our study assessed the prevalence of depression among university students in Jordan and its associated predictors after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis in the laparoscopic era is still a challenging disease.

Background: Xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis is an unusual inflammatory process of the gallbladder which is difficult to diagnose and manage and may be confused with gallbladder cancer. Many surgeons and pathologists are not familiar with this condition. We aim to highlight this condition and to review the role of laparoscopy in its management.
