In this paper, we present a machine learning-based approach that leverages Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks combined with a sliding window technique for feature extraction, aimed at accurately predicting point defect percentages in semiconductor materials based on simulated X-ray Diffraction (XRD) data. The model was initially trained on silicon-simulated XRD data with defect percentages ranging from 1 to 5%, enabling it to predict defect percentages from 0 to 10% in silicon and other semiconductor materials, including AlAs, CdS, GaAs, Ge, and ZnS. Through extensive experimentation, we explored different sequence lengths and LSTM units, identifying the optimal configuration as a sequence length of 3501 and 4500 units, which yielded the best results.

Forced displacement can expose youth to unimaginable levels of traumatic life events. We discuss how home-based, school-based, and community-based services can be strategically situated to address the psychological sequelae of such events. Given the systemic challenges that refugee youth face when establishing trust in their new environments, are often from collectivist cultural backgrounds, espouse stigma towards professional help seeking, and must prioritize accessing services for their basic needs, these types of settings can be particularly relevant.

Therapists serving families with high rates of trauma exposure in community mental health clinics face the potential risk of experiencing secondary traumatic stress and emotional exhaustion, both of which pose barriers for the implementation and sustainment of evidence-based practices. Previous research documents negative effects of living in socioeconomic disadvantaged neighborhoods on child development but has not examined the effects of working in these neighborhoods on therapist well-being. The current study merges publicly available data, administrative claims data on mental health services, and therapy survey data to 1) identify associations between neighborhood sociodemographic disadvantage and two community therapist well-being constructs, specifically secondary traumatic stress and emotional exhaustion; and 2) examine potential clinic- and therapist-level explanatory factors in the associations between neighborhood sociodemographic disadvantage and therapist well-being.

This study investigates the potential use of circulating extracellular vesicles' (EVs) DNA and protein content as biomarkers for traumatic brain injury (TBI) in a mouse model. Despite an overall decrease in EVs count during the acute phase, there was an increased presence of exosomes (CD63 EVs) during acute and an increase in microvesicles derived from microglia/macrophages (CD11b+ EVs) and astrocytes (ACSA-2+ EVs) in post-acute TBI phases, respectively.
