This paper deals with the effects of three low-carbon steel filler metals consisting of ferritic and austenitic phases on the weld joints of the tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding of Hardox 500 steel. The correlation between the microstructure and mechanical properties of the weld joints was investigated. For this purpose, macro and microstructure were examined, and then microhardness, tensile, impact, and fracture toughness tests were carried out to analyze the mechanical properties of joints.

Novel ultrasonically enhanced supramolecular solvent microextraction (USESSM) then high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection have been used for extraction and determination of phthalates in water and cosmetics. Coacervates consisting of decanoic acid-based nano-structured aggregates, specifically reverse micelles, have been used the first time as solvents for ultrasound-assisted emulsification microextraction (USAEME). Sonication accelerated mass transfer of the target analytes into the nano-structured solvent from the aqueous sample, thus reducing extraction time.

A supramolecular solvent consisting of reverse micelles of decanoic acid, dispersed in a continuous phase of tetrahydrofuran:water, was proposed as an efficient microextraction technique for extraction of selected chlorophenoxy acid herbicides from water samples prior to high-performance liquid chromatography UV determination. The disperser solvent (1.0 mL tetrahydrofuran) containing 20 mg decanoic acid was rapidly injected into 10.
