Cancer stem-like cells (CSC) play key roles in long-term tumor propagation and metastasis, but their dynamics during disease progression are not understood. Tumor relapse in patients with initially excised skin squamous cell carcinomas (SCC) is characterized by increased metastatic potential, and SCC progression is associated with an expansion of CSC. Here, we used genetically and chemically-induced mouse models of skin SCC to investigate the signaling pathways contributing to CSC function during disease progression.

The present article describes the activity of the Patient Liaison Service and Social Work Unit on March 11 and subsequent days. The service centered its activity on providing support, advice, and information to relatives, as well as on resource management and identification and localization of victims. The organization of activities and the response of the various professionals that comprise the team, as well as the results of their interventions are discussed.

We report 2 infants aged 6 months and one year with an anomalous left coronary artery origin treated surgically at our centre with direct aortic reimplantation of the anomalous coronary. Evolution has been satisfactory, with a great improvement of ventricular function. The mitral incompetence and congestive heart failure have disappeared and myocardic perfusion electrocardiographic patterns were corrected.

Double-outlet right ventricle with mitral atresia is an uncommon anomaly with a few cases reported in the literature. We present 9 cases of this malformation that have been diagnosed by two-dimensional echocardiography (7 cases), cardiac catheterization (9 cases) and anatomical study (2 cases). We classify them into two groups according to whether or not they have associated pulmonary stenosis.
