Objective: To describe the variability of DEI content in residency programs and compare DEI website content by specialty.

Methods: Using the 2021 Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) list of residency programs, residency training websites were identified and evaluated.

Linked kinematic knee balancing in unicompartmental knee arthroplasty.

The traditional approach of restoring a neutral mechanical axis to the lower extremity during total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) has long been favored due its consistency and reproducibility. The kinematic alignment approach, which accounts for the patient's natural knee alignment and is commonly a few degrees varus to the mechanical axis, has gained popularity in recent years as a technique which reestablishes a more anatomic alignment. Linked Anatomic Kinematic Arthroplasty (LAKA), an extension of the kinematic approach that employs computer-assisted surgical (CAS) navigation, can improve the accuracy and precision of kinematic measurements in unicompartmental knee arthroplasties.

Patient Adherence in an Academic Medical Center's Low-dose Computed Tomography Screening Program.

Objectives: Low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) screening is an important tool for reducing lung cancer mortality. This study describes a single center's experience with LDCT and attempts to identify any barriers to compliance with standard guidelines.

Total Hip Arthroplasty for the Sequelae of Femoral Neck Fractures in the Pediatric Patient.

Although rare, total hip arthroplasty (THA) may be indicated in pediatric patients with degenerative changes of the hip joint after previous trauma. To illustrate management principles in this patient population, this study describes the case of a 15-year-old female who sustained bilateral femoral neck fractures after a generalized tonic-clonic seizure, an atypical, low-energy mechanism for this injury. These fractures were not diagnosed until 14 weeks after the seizure episode, at which point they had progressed to nonunion on the left side, malunion on the right side, and degenerative hip joint changes were developing bilaterally.

Treatment of Maxillary Sinusitis of Odontogenic Origin: A Case Series.

Odontogenic infection is a possible cause of maxillary sinusitis. In this case series, the authors evaluated patients who presented with maxillary sinusitis symptoms before and after dental treatment. Intraoral periapical radiographs and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans were performed on three patients whose maxillary sinusitis symptoms included pain, sinus congestion, respiratory complaints, and what appeared on CBCT to be sinus mucosal thickening.

Technologic advances in endodontics.

This article addresses technologic advances in endodontics pertaining to new and emerging technology. Cone-beam computed tomography and optical occurrence tomography are 2 new imaging technologies that can assist the practitioner in the diagnosis of pulpal disease. The self-adjusting file and the Apexum device can be used for instrumentation and bulk debridement of an apical lesion, respectively.

One step pulp revascularization treatment of an immature permanent tooth with chronic apical abscess: a case report.

Aim: To describe a case in which a mandibular right second premolar with a necrotic pulp, sinus tract, periradicular radiolucency and an immature apex underwent revascularization via a single treatment approach.

Summary: Revascularization procedures have the potential to heal a partially necrotic pulp, which can be beneficial for the continued root development of immature teeth. However, it is not clear which revascularization protocols are the most effective.

Mandibular first molars with three mesial canals.

Five clinical cases demonstrate the presence of a middle mesial canal in the mandibular first permanent molar. This is not an extra canal but rather the sequelae of instrumenting the isthmus between the mesiobuccal and mesiolingual canals.
