These networks, connecting the corresponding recurrent layers of pre-trained feature detector stacks and newly introduced phone recognizer stacks, were trained on data from four Asian languages, with experiments testing the system on those languages and four African languages. Later adjustments of these networks include the use of contrastive predictive coding layers at the inputs to those networks' recurrent portions.

We demonstrate that proliferation and adipogenic capacity of subcutaneous adipose stem cells (ASCs) from female patients declined with advanced age, associated with reduction in cell nucleus size, increase in nuclear lamina protein lamin B1/B2, and lamin A, upregulation of senescence marker p16INK4a and senescence-associated β-galactosidase activity. Adipogenic induction resulted in differentiation of adipocytes and upregulation of adipogenic genes CCAAT enhancer binding protein alpha, fatty acid binding protein 4, lipoprotein lipase, and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ, which was not affected by the Sirt-1 activator YK-3-237 or the Sirt-1 inhibitor EX-527.

The fermentation process, involving probiotics, transforms the hydrolyzable tannins in pomegranate juice into ellagic acid (EA) and gallic acid (GA), which are believed to contribute to its health benefits. Molecular docking simulations confirmed the stable interactions between EA, GA, and proteins associated with the antioxidant and anti-apoptotic pathways.

Jamestown Canyon virus (JCV) is a mosquitoborne orthobunyavirus in the California serogroup that circulates throughout Canada and the United States. Most JCV exposures result in asymptomatic infection or a mild febrile illness, but JCV can also cause neurologic diseases, such as meningitis and encephalitis. We describe a case series of confirmed JCV-mediated neuroinvasive disease among persons from the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec, and Nova Scotia, Canada, during 2011-2016.
