Background: With an increasing interest in using large claims databases in medical practice and research, it is a meaningful and essential step to efficiently identify patients with the disease of interest.
Objectives: This study aims to establish a machine learning (ML) approach to identify patients with congenital heart disease (CHD) in large claims databases.
Methods: We harnessed data from the Quebec claims and hospitalization databases from 1983 to 2000.
Background: Heart failure (HF) results in persistent risk and long-term comorbidities. This is particularly true for patients with lifelong HF sequelae of cardiovascular disease such as patients with congenital heart disease (CHD).
Purpose: We developed hART (heart failure Attentive Risk Trajectory), a deep-learning model to predict HF trajectories in CHD patients.
The article presents new principles of carrying out prophylactic medical examination of military personnel: criteria of definition of health groups were proposed, pivotal role of general practitioner in performing of prophylactic medical examination, treatment-and heaIth-improving measures were highlighted. Positive results of introduction of this system of prophylactic medical examination in Kiev garrison enables to recommend it in a wide use to enhance the efficiency of regular medical check-ups in armed forces of Ukraine and other power authorities.

Apiphytoproducts were found out to accelerate the natural elimination of cesium radionuclides from the body, to normalize the indices for lipid peroxidation; they can be used on a monotherapy basis or combined with antisecretory or anti-Helicobacter drug preparations.

The above contingent of examinees displayed activation of lipid peroxidation (accumulation of conjugated dienes, keto-dienes, malonic dialdehyde) and decline in the activity of superoxide-dismutase, catalase. The results obtained attest to the need for using antioxidants in a complex therapy of patients with peptic ulcer, who have come to be exposed to ionizing radiation.

The digestive organs abnormalities were found to occur in 96% of the examinees, and included, for the most part, chronic gastritis, chronic cholecystitis, and ulcero-erosive lesions of gastric and duodenal mucosa. The results obtained warrant long-term follow-up examination of the digestive system status in victims of the Chernobyl accident, employing instrumental methods of investigation along with the institution of curative-and-prophylactic measures.
