Leachables in pharmaceutical products may react with biomolecule active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), for example, monoclonal antibodies (mAb), peptides, and ribonucleic acids (RNA), potentially compromising product safety and efficacy or impacting quality attributes. This investigation explored a series of models to screen extractables and leachables to assess their possible reactivity with biomolecules. These models were applied to collections of known leachables to identify functional and structural chemical classes likely to be flagged by these approaches.

Get2PrEP2-A Provider Messaging Strategy to Improve PrEP Uptake: A Randomized Controlled Quality Improvement Project.

Introduction: HIV preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP), a key strategy for preventing HIV transmission, requires awareness and access to PrEP services. Although all patients should be made aware of HIV PrEP; the diagnosis of bacterial sexually transmitted infections (STIs) is an important indicator of potential HIV PrEP need. Methods: This retrospective analysis aimed to assess whether a 12-hour mean temperature (measured around either diagnosis of HLH or peak ferritin value) has value as a quick and simple diagnostic test for HLH in people with lymphoproliferative disease (LPD). Hospital records from 2018 to 2022 were retrospectively screened for patients with LPD and peak ferritin during admission to hospital >3000ng/mL. Withdrawal of Left Ventricular Assist Device in Dementia: A Case Report.

Left ventricular assistance devices (LVADs) are one type of life support with the unique quality of allowing recipients to live outside the hospital. This case report explores the decision by a patient and their family to withdraw LVAD therapy in the setting of dementia and consultant team recommendations at odds with one another due to the patient's simultaneous alertness and lack of decisional capacity. It then discusses the guiding principles that led to the withdrawal of LVAD therapy and lessons drawn from the experience by the care team.

Reduced spatiotemporal bandwidth of motion stabilized event-based imaging sensors: experimental demonstration.

This work investigates event-based sensor (EBS) imaging system's read-out bandwidth performance under linear motion, with and without hardware stabilization techniques. We implement three image stabilization methods using hardware rotation to cancel the sensor platform's linear motion and recapture lost EBS performance. We successfully demonstrated the methods, showing a bandwidth reduction of over an order of magnitude in two scenes, 10 scene variations, and five EBS velocities.
