Purpose: To investigate the awareness and the spread of ChatGPT and its possible role in both scientific research and clinical practice among the young radiation oncologists (RO).
Material And Methods: An anonymous, online survey via Google Forms (including 24 questions) was distributed among young (< 40 years old) ROs in Italy through the yAIRO network, from March 15, 2024, to 31, 2024. These ROs were officially registered with yAIRO in 2023.
: The main goal of radiotherapy (RT) is to deliver a precise dose to the target while sparing the surrounding normal tissue and minimizing side effects. Appropriate patient immobilization is crucial, especially for head and neck cancer (HNC) and Brain Cancer (BC). Conventional closed-face masks (CFMs), while effective in minimizing head motion, can cause significant discomfort, anxiety, and claustrophobia.

Predation is a key top-down control mechanism affecting inoculum establishment, however, its effects on this process have received little attention. This study focused on the impact of trophic interactions on bioaugmentation success in two soils with different pollution exposure histories.

Linking the microbial community structure (MCS) with physicochemistry of freshwater courses allows a better understanding of its ecology and can be useful to assess the ecological impact generated by human activity. The MCS of tributary channels from La Plata River affected by oil refinery (C, D, and E) and one also by urban discharges (C) was studied.

The dose coverage to target volumes is critical to yield maximum benefit to treated patients, increasing local control and reducing risk of toxicity. This study aims to assess patterns of breast cancer relapse in patients treated with mastectomy, breast reconstruction and PMRT.

This study aimed at assessing outcomes, toxicities and prognostic factors in a cohort of patients with recurrent meningiomas re-treated with different RT modalities.
Materials And Methods: A multi-institutional database from 8 Italian centers including intracranial recurrent meningioma (RM) patients who underwent re-RT with different modalities (SRS, SRT, PT, EBRT) was collected.
De novo metastatic Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma (HNSCC) constitutes 10% of recurrent/metastatic (RM) cases. Radiotherapy (RT) has a crucial role in the treatment of locally advanced HNSCC, however its application on RM diseases is still limited. The advent of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) improves the survival of RM HNSCC, however median overall survival is still limited.

Cardiotoxicity relates to the direct effects of cancer-related treatment on heart function, commonly presenting as left ventricular contractile dysfunction. However, limited data are available regarding cardiotoxic effects on HCM as most studies have not specifically analyzed the effects of oncological treatment in HCM populations.

Principal aim of our study was to investigate dosimetric parameters in relation to patient-assessed taste impairment in a prospective cohort treated with intensity-modulated radiotherapy.
Methods: All patients with locally advanced HNSCC and amenable to radical treatment were included.
Biochemical recurrences after radical prostatectomy (RP) can be managed with curative purpose through salvage radiation therapy (SRT). RT dose escalation, such as stereotactic RT (SSRT), may improve relapse-free survival in this setting. STARR trial (NCT05455736) is a prospective multicenter study including patients affected by macroscopic recurrence within the prostate bed after RP treated with SSRT.

The use of synthetic microbial consortia is promising in bioremediation of contaminated sites with these pollutants. However, the design of consortia taking advantage of natural interactions has been poorly explored.

Prostate cancer benefited the most from this process. In recent years, the development of Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) radically changed clinical practice, also thanks to the availability of modern imaging techniques.

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic could raise HCW flu vaccination adherence. The aim of this study was to assess HCW attitudes toward influenza vaccination in the COVID-19 era.

Aim of this study is to analyze the infection eradication rate and implant survival at medium-term follow-up in patients treated with megaprostheses for periprosthetic hip infections with severe bone loss.
Methods: Twenty-one consecutive patients were retrospectively reviewed at a mean 64-month follow-up (24-120).
The aim of this systematic review is to assess the role of the prophylactic fixation of contralateral unaffected hip in unilateral slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE) in children, focusing on the possible complications of this surgical procedure. A systematic review of medical literature was conducted, according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) statement, to analyse the complications of prophylactic contralateral hip fixation in unilateral paediatric SCFE. We registered the complications reported in the included studies, scoring their severity according to the orthopaedic adaptation of Clavien-Dindo classification.

Our hypothesis was that a positive intraoperative LE test would be a better predictor of persistent infection than either serum C-reactive protein (CRP) or erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) or the combination of serum CRP and ESR.
Methods: The records of 76 patients who received a 2-stage exchange for PJI were retrospectively reviewed.
Aims: In 2018, we published early results from a cohort of patients treated with stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) after previous radiotherapy with definitive or postoperative intent. We sought to provide extended follow-up of this cohort to confirm the safety and efficacy of this approach in a real-world scenario.
Materials And Methods: Fifty patients affected by local relapse after previous definitive or postoperative radiotherapy were treated with SBRT.
Background: Ankle periprosthetic joint infections are rising in number, but an evidence-based gold standard treatment has not been defined yet.
Methods: We made a systematic review about the operative treatment of infections following total ankle arthroplasty. Proportional meta-analysis was used to summarize effects of the surgical techniques included.
Aims: Currently, when nodal pelvic oligorecurrent disease is detected, no standard treatment option is recommended. One possible salvage option is nodal stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT). Here we analysed recurrence patterns after nodal SBRT in patients affected by pelvic oligometastatic relapse after radical prostatectomy, and androgen deprivation therapy (ADT)-free survival in this population.

The evaluation of the efficacy of the induction strategy is made possible by performing imaging investigations before and after the neoadjuvant therapy and is usually challenging. In the last decade, texture analysis (TA) has been developed to help the radiologist to quantify and identify the parameters related to tumor heterogeneity, which cannot be appreciated by the naked eye.
