Current study is the first ever storage cum market trial of radiation processed (28 tons) of potato conducted in India at a commercial scale. The objective was to affirm the efficacy of very low dose of gamma radiation processing of potato for extended storage with retained quality and to understand the plausible mechanism at the gene modulation level for suppression of potato sprouting. Genes pertaining to abscisic acid (ABA) biosynthesis were upregulated whereas its catabolism was downregulated in irradiated potatoes.

New insights from the genetic work-up in early onset nephrotic syndrome: report from a registry in western India.

Background: Eighty-five percent of infants with congenital nephrotic syndrome (CNS) and 66% with infantile NS (INS) are likely to have a monogenic etiology. There exists a significant genetic variability between different regions and ethnic groups. This study aimed to determine the genetic defects in children with CNS and INS by establishing a registry in western India.

Facile synthesis of sulphur-doped carbon dots (S-CDs) using a hydrothermal method for the selective sensing of Cr and Fe ions: application to environmental water sample analysis.

In this work, we used a one-step hydrothermal method to synthesize blue-emission sulfur-doped carbon dots (S-CDs) using jaggery as a carbon precursor. The synthesized carbon quantum dots showed low toxicity, good water solubility, anti-interference properties, and stable fluorescence. When excited at 310 nm, the S-CDs produced bright emission with a quantum yield of 7.

Assessment of personal care product use and perceptions of use in a sample of US adults affiliated with a university in the Northeast.

Evidence supports unequal burdens of chemical exposures from personal care products (PCPs) among some groups, namely femme-identifying and racial and ethnic minorities. In this study, we implemented an online questionnaire to assess PCP purchasing and usage behaviors and perceptions of use among a sample of US adults recruited at a Northeastern university. We collected PCP use across seven product categories (hair, beauty, skincare, perfumes/colognes, feminine hygiene, oral care, other), and behaviors, attitudes, and perceptions of use and safety across sociodemographic factors to evaluate relationships between sociodemographic factors and the total number of products used within the prior 24-48 h using multivariable models.

This review describes some recent research methods in drug discovery toxicology, including in vitro cell and organ-on-a-chip, imaging systems, model organisms (, , and ), and toxicogenomics in modern toxicology testing.

A New 'Off-On' System Based on Core-Substituted Naphthalene Diimide with Dimethylamine for Reversible Acid-Base Sensing.

A new 'Off-On' system designed and synthesised by functionalisation of a naphthalene diimide (NDI) core with dimethylamine produces 4,9-bis(dimethylamino)-2,7-dioctylbenzo[lmn][3,8]-phenanthroline-1,3,6,8-(2H,7H)-tetraone, abbreviated as DDPT (1). DDPT 1 was synthesised using a simple strategy, namely aromatic nucleophilic substitution using Br -NDI with dimethylamine at 110 °C. DDPT was characterized by H and C NMR spectroscopy, ESI mass spectrometry and elemental analysis.

Comparison of Marginal Fit of Metal Copings in Two Different States with and without Using Ring Liners: An Study.

Multiple Large Prostatic Stones Causing Chronic Pelvic Pain: A Case Report.

Apart from a few cases, prostatic stones are asymptomatic and found incidentally on routine evaluation. Current knowledge about the significance of prostatic stones in urological symptoms and chronic pelvic pain syndrome is limited. Although prostatic stones are rare, they are frequently present in patients with chronic pelvic pain syndrome and increase inflammation and duration of symptoms in these patients.

Prevalence and subtypes of hypertension in normal-weight and obese Indian adolescents: a cross-sectional study.

This cross-sectional study examined the prevalence, stages, subtypes of hypertension, and the associated risk factors in adolescent school children in Western India. We screened 2,644 adolescents, from 10 different private and government schools in urban and rural areas for hypertension, as defined by the 2017 Clinical Practice Guidelines. The association of stages and subtypes with age, gender, body mass index, type of school, and place of residence was analysed.

In the present work, novel one-pot multicomponent reactions of tosylates, aryl aldehydes and thiosemicarbazide are reported for the synthesis of hydrazinyl thiazoles, using Fe2O3 NPs derived from rusted iron as a catalyst. The Fe2O3 NPs were characterized using XRD, SEM, VSM, HR-TEM, EDX and FT-IR techniques. The structures of all of the synthesized hydrazinyl thiazole derivatives were confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, FT-IR and mass spectrometry.

The flower-like morphology was observed by scanning electron microscopy, to be approximately 4 µm in diameter and about 10 nm in thickness.

Introducing Hybrid Problem-Based Learning Modules in Ayurveda Education: Results of an Exploratory Study.

Problem-based learning (PBL) is a well-known student-centered instructional approach that is known to enhance problem-solving skills among the learners.
