Current study is the first ever storage cum market trial of radiation processed (28 tons) of potato conducted in India at a commercial scale. The objective was to affirm the efficacy of very low dose of gamma radiation processing of potato for extended storage with retained quality and to understand the plausible mechanism at the gene modulation level for suppression of potato sprouting. Genes pertaining to abscisic acid (ABA) biosynthesis were upregulated whereas its catabolism was downregulated in irradiated potatoes.

There exists a significant genetic variability between different regions and ethnic groups. This study aimed to determine the genetic defects in children with CNS and INS by establishing a registry in western India.

The synthesized carbon quantum dots showed low toxicity, good water solubility, anti-interference properties, and stable fluorescence. When excited at 310 nm, the S-CDs produced bright emission with a quantum yield of 7.

Carbon dots have demonstrated a great potential as luminescent nanoparticles in energy, drug delivery, sensors, and various biomedical applications as well as environmental pollutants and water analysis. Although, such nanoparticles appear to exhibit low toxicity compared to other semiconductor and metal based luminescent nanomaterials. Today, we know that toxicity of carbon dots (CDs) strongly depends on the protocol of fabrication.

In this study, we implemented an online questionnaire to assess PCP purchasing and usage behaviors and perceptions of use among a sample of US adults recruited at a Northeastern university. We collected PCP use across seven product categories (hair, beauty, skincare, perfumes/colognes, feminine hygiene, oral care, other), and behaviors, attitudes, and perceptions of use and safety across sociodemographic factors to evaluate relationships between sociodemographic factors and the total number of products used within the prior 24-48 h using multivariable models.

Although animal testing is still considered as the "gold standard" in traditional toxicity testing, there is a necessity for shift from animal testing to alternative methods regarding the drug safety testing owing to the emerging state-of-art techniques and the proposal of 3Rs (replace, reduce, and refine) towards animal welfare. This review describes some recent research methods in drug discovery toxicology, including in vitro cell and organ-on-a-chip, imaging systems, model organisms (, , and ), and toxicogenomics in modern toxicology testing.

Flexural (transverse) strength is required high to prevent catastrophic failure under load for success. Denture base resins are fabricated by three different types of manufacturing: Compression molding, injection molding and computer-aided design (CAD/CAM) milling technique.

Materials And Methods: Sixty children of age 6-14 years with mixed dentition and count > 1 × 10 CFU/mL of saliva were divided: group I-chlorhexidine varnish; group II-Fluoride varnish; group III-Combination of chlorhexidine and Fluoride varnish. chlorhexidine and Fluoride varnishes were applied to teeth once every week for four consecutive weeks in respective groups.
Enzymes that degrade pectin are called pectinases. Pectinases of microbial origin are used in juice clarification as the process is cost-effective. This study screened a pectinase-producing bacterium isolated from soil and identified as 15A B-92 based on the 16S rRNA molecular technique.

DDPT 1 was synthesised using a simple strategy, namely aromatic nucleophilic substitution using Br -NDI with dimethylamine at 110 °C. DDPT was characterized by H and C NMR spectroscopy, ESI mass spectrometry and elemental analysis.

Materials And Methods: An study was conducted on 40 patterns which were invested, and a burnout casting procedure was used, using a Ni-Cr alloy to obtain the cast copings. The cast copings were divested, cleaned, and run through a finishing procedure.
Apart from a few cases, prostatic stones are asymptomatic and found incidentally on routine evaluation. Current knowledge about the significance of prostatic stones in urological symptoms and chronic pelvic pain syndrome is limited. Although prostatic stones are rare, they are frequently present in patients with chronic pelvic pain syndrome and increase inflammation and duration of symptoms in these patients.

We screened 2,644 adolescents, from 10 different private and government schools in urban and rural areas for hypertension, as defined by the 2017 Clinical Practice Guidelines. The association of stages and subtypes with age, gender, body mass index, type of school, and place of residence was analysed.

The spike 'S' protein of SARS-CoV-2 and ACE2 of the host cell are being targeted to design new drugs to control Covid-19. Similarly, a transmembrane serine protease, TMPRSS2 of the host cell plays a significant role in the proteolytic cleavage of viral 'S' protein helpful for the priming of ACE2 receptors and viral entry into human cells.

Problem-based learning (PBL) is a well-known student-centered instructional approach that is known to enhance problem-solving skills among the learners. Because teaching/learning methods in most of the Ayurveda colleges in India are still didactic and teacher centric, the effects of introducing PBL have not yet been evaluated. The primary objective of this study was to develop PBL modules for Kriya Sharira (Ayurveda Physiology) and their implementation in a hybrid format.
