Purpose: To verify the effects of different catecholamines on volemic expansion and on the autonomic nervous system in rabbits that were subjected to hemorrhage.
Methods: Twenty four rabbits subjected to hemorrhage (with a 25% loss of blood volume) and were randomly divided into four experimental groups: 1) HEMO Group underwent replacement with their own blood in an equal volume; 2) SS Group underwent replacement with saline solution (SS) in a volume that corresponded to three times the removed blood volume; 3) ISP Group underwent replacement with SS and isoprenaline; 4) FNL Group underwent replacement with SS and phenylephrine. Spectral Analysis of the heart rate and heart rate variability were performed from the recorded data.

TLR4 is expressed in most tissues of the body, but its activity in the cells of the immune system is expected to underlie its most important roles of inducing inflammation and insulin resistance. Near monodisperse nanoparticles are prepared using reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization, initiated from a silica surface, to prepare a polystyrene shell around a silica core. Objective: To evaluate the long-term efficacy of LTBI screening and treatment in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) receiving TNF blockers.
Design: A total of 202 RA patients were screened for LTBI before receiving anti-TNF treatment using the tuberculin skin test (TST), chest X-ray (CXR) and history of exposure to tuberculosis (TB).

Methods: Twenty-five polyarticular-course JIA patients pre-anti-TNF and 22 healthy controls underwent conventional/tissue Doppler echocardiography and cardiac biomarkers measurements (N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide [NT-pro-BNP] and troponin T) at baseline (BL). Twenty-one JIA patients completed six evaluations during two consecutive years.
The scope of this paper was to analyze the effect of a structured protocol of vestibular rehabilitation in the symptomatology of dizziness and the quality of life among the elderly. Nine elderly individuals were attended, namely four males and five females. Methods: Standardized AlloDerm® fragments measuring 5 mm² were grafted into the subcutaneous tissue overlying the calvaria in 32 Wistar rats. Laser therapy (685 ηm), at a dose of 4 J/cm2 per session, was applied immediately after surgical intervention and every 48 hours thereafter for a total of four applications.

Methods: Cross-sectional study, whose data source were research on feeding behaviors in the first year of life conducted in the vaccination campaigns of 2003 and 2006, at the municipality of Barra Mansa, RJ, Southeastern Brazil. For the purposes of this study, infants under six months old, accounting for a total of 589 children in 2003 and 707 children in 2006, were selected.
