The pursuit of structure-property relationships in crystalline metal halide perovskites (MHPs) has yielded an unprecedented combination of advantageous characteristics for wide-ranging optoelectronic applications. While crystalline MHP structures are readily accessible through diffraction-based structure refinements, providing a clear view of associated long-range ordering, the local structures in more recently discovered glassy MHP states remain unexplored. Herein, we utilize a combination of Raman spectroscopy, solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, in situ X-ray diffraction (XRD) and pair distribution function (PDF) analysis to investigate the coordination environment in crystalline, glass and melt states of the 2D MHP [(S)-(-)-1-(1-naphthyl)ethylammonium]PbBr.

Since 2022, European specifications for organic pig farming have evolved to distribute 100 % organic feed and to reinforce the link to the soil with feed resources that should primarily be obtained from the farm or the same region. Feeding strategy acts as a lever to improve various quality dimensions of organic (as well as conventional) pork, including intrinsic dimensions (carcass composition, nutritional, organoleptic, technological, sanitary qualities) and extrinsic dimensions related to animal farming (image). Diet may also influence the risk of undesirable odours or flavours that may be found in pork from non-castrated male pigs.

The purpose of this article is to remind the importance of the inverse square law in radiotherapy and especially in brachytherapy. Indeed, beyond the impact in radiation therapy with high energy beam, there is the use of radionuclides and low energy photons with short FSD where it is still more important. The Papillon experience and the Lyon R96-02 trial have shown that contact X-ray brachytherapy of 50kV is efficient and safe to achieve long term local control and organ preservation for cT1 and early cT2-3 rectal cancers. The OPERA trial, using the Papillon 50™ machine, brings further support to this preservation strategy for selected T2T3ab lesions. Future trials using a contact X-ray boost will try to consolidate and enlarge its place in organ preservation for rectal cancers.

We investigated using solid-state NMR spectroscopy the short-range structural features in lithium aluminosilicate glasses with the addition of P2O5 and considering various Al2O3/Li2O ratios. The phosphorus environment is determined quantitatively using 31P Magic Angle Spinning NMR constrained by results obtained from 31P-27Al Multiple-Quantum Coherence-based NMR techniques. Phosphorus is mainly located as orthophosphate and pyrophosphate species in glasses with a low amount of Al2O3.

The study aimed to link the within-day dynamics of voluntary feed intake and those of blood metabolites and insulin in growing pigs having ad libitum access to feed and receiving diets differing in dietary fibre levels and aleurone supplementation. We introduce a novel heteronuclear dipolar recoupling based on the R2 symmetry, which uses the tanh/tan (tt) shaped pulse as a basic inversion element and is denoted R2(tt). Using first-order average Hamiltonian theory, we show that this sequence is non-γ-encoded and that it reintroduces the |m| = 1 spatial component of the Chemical Shift Anisotropy (CSA) of the irradiated isotope and its heteronuclear dipolar interactions. Using numerical simulations and one-dimensional (1D) Al-{P} through-space D-HMQC (Dipolar Heteronuclear Multiple-Quantum Correlation) experiments on VPI-5, we compare the performances of this recoupling to those of other non-γ-encoded |m| = 1 heteronuclear recoupling schemes: REDOR (Rotational-Echo DOuble Resonance), SFAM (Simultaneous Frequency and Amplitude Modulation) and R4(tt).

Since microbiota may influence the physiology of its host including body weight increase, growth rate or feed intake, in this study we determined the microbiota composition in high or low residual feed intake (HRFI and LRFI) pig lines, of different age and/or subjected to sanitary stress by sequencing the V3/V4 variable region of 16S rRNA genes. Allisonella, Megasphaera, Mitsuokella, Acidaminococcus (all belonging to Firmicutes/class Negativicutes), Lactobacillus, Faecalibacterium, Catenibacterium, Butyrivibrio, Erysipelotrichaceae, Holdemania, Olsenella and Collinsella were more abundant in HRFI pigs. On the other hand, 26 genera including Bacteroides, Clostridium sensu stricto, Oscillibacter, Paludibacter, Elusimicrobium, Bilophila, Pyramidobacter and TM7 genera, and Clostridium XI and Clostridium XIVa clusters were more abundant in LRFI than HRFI pigs.
