Background: Health literacy (HL) involves self-care skills of healthy people and those with chronic diseases.
Objective: To assess the association between HL and blood pressure (BP) control in patients with hypertension.
Material And Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted from April to June 2022 in a family medicine unit from the Mexican Institute for Social Security (IMSS).
Objective: to interpret young nursing professionals' perceptions about the relationship between working, employment and health conditions.
Method: a qualitative study with an interpretive approach regarding the work-related experiences of 15 young nurses, who took part in the research through voluntary snowball sampling. The data from the interviews and the focus group were analyzed to reach an approximation to the realities inherent to the nurses' work life.
We sought to investigate the association between hazardous alcohol use and gaps in care for people living with HIV over a long-term follow-up period. Adults who had participated in our previously published Phase I study of hazardous alcohol use at HIV programs in Kenya and Uganda were eligible at their 42 to 48 month follow-up visit. Those who re-enrolled were followed for an additional ~ 12 months.

Design: We conducted a multimethod non-randomised pilot study. We used a pre-test/post-test design for quantitative assessment of the intervention's effect on patients' supportive care needs and quality of life.
Silymarin has ameliorated obesity, type 2 diabetes (T2DM), and insulin resistance (IR) in combination with standard therapy, diet, or exercise in recent studies. Obesity and IR are the main risk factors for developing T2DM and other metabolic disorders. Today, there is a need for new strategies to target IR in patients with these metabolic diseases.

In Pima County, Arizona, equity-centered local government engagement and policy action, multipronged community-based responses, and expansion of historically underfunded local public health infrastructure improved equitable outcomes and addressed multiple systemic factors. This case study examined Pima County's 3-pronged public health response to COVID-19 using an equity-based approach.

Simvastatin regulates cholesterol metabolism and protects from atherosclerosis disease. Simvastatin-tween 80 was administered 7 days before sterotaxic intrastriatal administration of MPP (1-methyl-4-phenylpyridine) in rats.

Methods: Retrospective cohort study including pregnant women with PPH attended between January 2011 to December 2019. Three periods of time were defined according to management strategies We performed univariate and multivariate robust Poisson regression logistic models for each of the outcomes derived from each period.
Background: The septate uterus is the most common congenital uterine anomaly, and hysteroscopy is the gold standard for diagnosing it. The goal of this meta-analysis is to perform a pooled analysis of the diagnostic performance of two-dimensional transvaginal ultrasonography, two-dimensional transvaginal sonohysterography, three-dimensional transvaginal ultrasound, and three-dimensional transvaginal sonohysterography for the diagnosis of the septate uterus.
Methods: Studies published between 1990 and 2022 were searched in PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science.
Background: Diagnostic accuracy for estimating myometrial infiltration by ultrasound in endometrial cancer requires experience. The objective of this study is to determine the learning curve (LC) for assessing myometrial infiltration in cases of endometrial cancer using transvaginal ultrasound (TVS).
Methods: Five trainees (one staff radiologist and four fourth-year OB/GYN residents) participated in this study.
This study aimed to validate the Spanish version of the COVID-19 Student Stress Questionnaire (CSSQ), a 7-item tool assessing COVID-19-related stressors among university students, namely, Relationships and Academic Life, Isolation, and Fear of Contagion. Participants were 331 Spanish university students. Factor analyses sustained the three factor solution of the original tool.

The PCHD aimed to improve vaccine access in areas with vaccination rates <40% by involving community partners to plan a multiresource event with resources (eg, food, connection to economic resources, information on childcare, and heat relief)and incentives specific to community needs that could drive attendance. Resources would be made available to community members regardless of whether they received a COVID-19 vaccine at the event.

DFAs have been considered beneficial for health, particularly polyunsaturated (PUFAs) and monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs). Additionally, microRNAs (miRNAs) exert their function on DFA metabolism by modulating gene expression, and have drawn great attention for their potential as biomarkers and therapeutic targets.

The deployment of REBOA may lead to significant variations in vital signs requiring special care by anesthesiology during surgery. These modifications of blood pressure by REBOA in PAS patients have not been accurately documented.

This study sought to examine Bolivian trauma care from the patient perspective in order to determine barriers to care and targets for improvement.
Methods: Investigators conducted 15 semi-structured interviews with trauma patients admitted at four hospitals in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia in June and July of 2016.

Changing environmental conditions are of utmost importance for regulation of secondary metabolism in fungi. Different environmental cues including the carbon source, light and the presence of a mating partner can lead to altered production of compounds. Thereby, the heterotrimeric G-protein pathway is of major importance for sensing and adjustment of gene regulation.

Methods: Two different groups of adults were studied. Group I consisted of 8 individuals with normal glucose tolerance (NGT) and 8 with T2DM, subjected to SKLM mitochondrial proteome analysis by 2D-gel electrophoresis followed by mass spectrometry-based protein identification.
Background: Stomata in rice control a number of physiological processes by regulating gas and water exchange between the atmosphere and plant tissues. The impact of the structural diversity of these micropores on its conductance level is an important area to explore before introducing stomatal traits into any breeding program in order to increase photosynthesis and crop yield. Therefore, an intensive measurement of structural components of stomatal complex (SC) of twenty three Oryza species spanning the primary, secondary and tertiary gene pools of rice has been conducted.

In , an interrelationship between regulation of enzyme gene expression and secondary metabolism was shown. In this study, we investigated the physiological relevance of the unique YPK1-type kinase USK1 of .

Design: Psychometric validation of a questionnaire.
Setting: Two public oncology hospitals in Mexico City.
Objective: Decreased serum concentrations of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) affect people with chronic kidney disease (CKD); lower concentrations of 25(OH)D have been associated with decrease in nutritional status indicators. On the other hand, muscle resistance exercise has improved the nutritional status of patients with CKD.The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of resistance exercise and dietary supplementation with cholecalciferol on nutritional status indicators in adults with stage 4 CKD.
